gina and arabella stood next to each other watching as ms. jenn passed out scripts with carlos. ms. jenn approached the two girls taking one look the two of them and handed the two the gabriella scripts, and walked away.
seb sat patiently at the piano, and ej had gotten onto stage about to sing. "okay, our last troy" ms. jenn announced. "whoo! and he comes with props! love it!" she cheered.
"okay, what do i need to know" she asked while leaning towards carlos. "ej caswell. most instagram followers, wakes up looking like that, doesn't know i exist." as ej finished, ms. jenn called out "we're moving on to the gabriella's" having gina start, and arabella and nini follow.
it was then arabella's turn.
"hi, arabella woods, junior. and ill be auditioning with an original song" the girl smiled and grabbed her guitar.

as bella finished the song, students around her began to clap. her eyes met ej's and for a second she swore she saw them soften, before turning cold and standing up to meet with his girlfriend before her audition.
instead of going back to the group of classmates auditioning she walked out of the auditorium, tears forming in her eyes. she walked down the hall until she was bumped into by a boy. she immediately turned to apologize, only to be met with ricky's brown eyes.
he saw the girl and pulled her into a hug. "hey, hey, bella" he whispered. "hey you okay" he spoke into her hair. though the two weren't close, it broke his heart to see the girl who always had a smile on her face, crying in the school hallway.
"i'm good, thank you ricky" she gave him a soft smile, one that he reciprocated, releasing her from his grasp. "where were you headed in such a rush" she asked. "oh, just having the crazy idea to audition for a school musical" he laughed, bring a genuine smile to her face. "well you better hurry up, mr. bowen"
"your coming with me then" he spoke as he grabbed her hand and ran to the auditorium.
