Chapter Fourteen

I spent the night tonight at Naomi's house. A little bit after the boys left Naomi and I were sitting on her bed in our pjs.

"Ok, so spill about the kiss. I mean obviously I saw it but what were you thinking? Like is he a good kisser?"

"Well Umm-"

"Wait. I almost forgot. OH MY GOSH I CANT BELIEVE I SAW MY BEST FRIEND HAVING A MAKE OUT SESH RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! MY NAOMI ROSE! They grow up so fast," I say wiping away a fake tear just as she did when Ace and I first kissed.

"Now that you know what it feels like. Continue." I say ending my rant. But she wouldn't answer because now she was uncontrollably laughing. After what seemed like forever she caught her breathe and started to talk.

"Well it was good I guess I mean I don't know," I could tell she's afraid to fall for a guy because she thinks she'll get burned.

"Naomi, I wouldn't let you be with a guy I didn't approve of. Aidan's a good kid and he won't hurt you ok? And if he does you better bet I will go beat him up," I say acting like I'm tough when in reality I can barely do a push-up. Naomi laughs but then gets serious.

"I know I know. But I just I don't know. I really like him and hanging out with him tonight was great and I guess we are "official" now so I have to go with it," she says looking at me wanting me to confirm she's right.

"Exactly so now we can go on cute double dates and such things. Aww I'm so excited," I say a smile coming to my face just thinking about it.

The next morning I get ready and leave Naomi's house because I have plans with Nolen. Him and I have been friends since I can remember and we've been busy lately so we scheduled some time to catch up.

As I walk up to the beach side restaurant I see Nolen already sitting in a booth waiting for me. I walk in and when he sees me he smiles and stands up and we hug as I reach the booth.

"Hey, haven't seen you in forever how's everything been?" Nolen smiles as we sit across from each other.

"I know it's been crazy lately but it's been good how about you?" I reply returning his smile.

"And I heard you and Ace are a thing now," Nolen smirks raising his eyebrows.

I roll my eyes and giggle as I tell him about it. We laugh and have a good time like there was no break between the last time we hung out. We walk on the beach and just laugh and have fun. As we sit down on the sand to take a break we sit and watch the waves crash. Then Nolen turns to me.

"Alani I truly have missed you,"

"I've missed you too. It's been way too long and I had a blast today,"

The next thing I know Nolen's lips were against mine. Alani what are you doing?!?!? You're dating Ace! This can't be happening. I pull away completely shocked and scared. As I look at Nolen he looks the same way.

"Alani I- I didn't mean- what just-" Nolen mutters completely stunned.

"No I know- it's- I have to go. It was nice hanging out with you today," I say my voice shaking as I get up and rush to my car. What have I done. Nolen and I are friends. And just that. With me freaking out about a those pictures from when Ace was with Alexis I can't imagine what Ace would think seeing this. Wait Ace can't know. This would totally crush him. And how do you explain accidentally kissing someone? And why would he believe it was an accident anyway? I didn't even tell him I was going to hang out with Nolen today.

I don't know what to do. Usually I'd call Nolen but you see that won't really work now. I go to call Naomi when my phone starts to ring. And it's Ace. Just great. I know I have to answer he is my boyfriend.

"Hello," I answer trying to sound normal.

"Hey babe what's up?" Ace says in his cute voice that kills me.

"Oh just got done with some lunch," I say. I mean it was true and he didn't ask for details.

"Sounds fun. You wanna come over?" He asks and immediately my stomach drops.

"Umm I can't." I answer a little too fast but hey I just accidentally kissed someone.

"Babe, pleaseeee I need youuuuu," he whines. He's so cute and knows his whining makes me melt and is definitely using it to his advantage.

"Fine, I'll be there in a few," Darnit Alani. Why would you do that? Now you're going to accidentally tell about the accidental kiss and this is all going to be really bad. I don't want to lose Ace.
