Chapter 7

The meet is over and we are all gathering our things as I sprint over to Naomi and hug her.

"You did amazing today!" I say with a big smile.

"Thanks dude," Naomi's replies.

We start to walk and she bumps my arm.

"So what all went down? Like I saw you get here and Ace hugged you and you pushed away then I found you guys outside on the bench," Naomi asks looking concerned considering last night I was changing my last name to his.

"Oh goodness long story... You wanna hang later?" I ask

"Sure I'll go home get showered and eat so I don't eat all your food you know how it is after a meet. Then come over in like an hour?"

"Sounds good," I say waving as I walk towards my car.

"Well bye," I here a sarcastic voice behind me as I turn around realizing I kind of blew him off.

"Sorry I got distracted," I say hugging him.

"Hey wanna hang today?" He asks stepping back from our hug.

"Actually, I told Naomi we would... Umm she's coming over in an hour though so I guess you could come now but you have to leave in exactly an hour," I say trying to act bossy

"Well dang." Ace says smirking "I guess I'll see you there mother," I smack him as I climb into my car and he just laughs and walks toward his.

We get to my house at the same time and as we walk up to the door I stop and turn towards him. He looks at me like are you ok.

"This is your first time meeting my parents," I say sternly and serious.

"Yes, I realized this sergeant," Ace replies playing along.

"So just don't be an idiot," I say slouching my shoulders falling out of character.

"Don't worry about it babe I got this," Ace says reaching for my hand. I smack his hand down.

"Obviously you don't. You don't walk into the house holding hands,"

"Sorry. Habit. But yes I have this I promise relax."

"Fine." I say continuing to the porch as I open the door.

We walk in and there's no commotion considering my family is just expecting me. I lead Ace into the kitchen as I look around and we find my mom making lunch.

"Hey Alani can you-" my mom turns around to see a tall figure standing behind me.

"Oh hi dear. Who's this?" She asks motioning to Ace.

"This is Ace. My boyfriend," I say figuring it's easier to just drop the news than beat around the bush.

"Pleasure to meet you," Ace extends his hand as my mother shakes it.

"We'll be in the living room," I say motioning Ace in that direction.

We just hang out and be goofballs together until finally his times up. I look at my phone seeing the time.

"Oh you have to leave," I say getting off the couch.

"Oh ok," Ace says following me. I walk him out and we stand by his car.

" I had a lovely time babe you're wonderful," he says looking down at his feet.

I don't know what came over me. I looked at him being all cute and sweet and I couldn't help it. I kissed him. As soon as our lips touched I didn't want to stop. He was a great kisser and I was falling hard. I hear a car coming so I pull away as Ace grabs my hands. He looks at me genuinely shocked and won't takes his eyes off of me.

His gaze is making my cheeks hot so I hug him to break his stare.

"I love you," he whispers as he releases me and I realized Naomi just pulled in. Ace climbs into his car and tells me to call him as he backs out and I see his car drive away.

"Wow it's smoking over here," Naomi says as she's walks over with a smirk on her face. I'm still looking at where Ace's car left.

"Make out sesh my gosh Alani have some class," that snaps me out of my dream as I turn to Naomi with a frown.
