Jungkook woke up to the sun blaring in his eyes and crumpled sheets right next to him. The warmth that he wanted was missing, but he knew that Taehyung must've left because of the morals that he held, nothing more.

Stretching his limbs a bit more, he walked downstairs to the lounge to see Namjoon with a cup of coffee in his hand.

"Good morning, Kook. I hope you're feeling better," Namjoon called out. Jungkook nodded as he glanced at the coffee.

"On the table," Namjoon replied as if he read Jungkook's mind. He sat down right next to the younger.

"Hyung, I wanted to ask you something."

"Go ahead."

"How do you know when you feel something for someone?"

"This is about Taehyung, isn't it?"

"H-how did you know?" Jungkook asked, stunned.

"Some flowers bloom at night when everyone is asleep," he answered with a philosophical face. Jungkook just stared back at him for a few seconds more before the older eventually broke into a fit of laughter.

"No, Jin told me about it, because Taehyung had confided in me about something similar. But the truth is Jungkook, you actually don't know when you fall in love or how. You just do. And you only feel that way when that person adores you and cares for you more than anything. You know that he'll be there for you when he stands next to you through thick and thin. When he stays for you in your darkest moments. When he says that he'll stand by your side. And that is when you know. That is when you know that they love you."

Jungkook nodded in a daze. He wasn't sure about how to process the information. Taehyung still felt like an untouchable star, because he barely knew anything about him. Starting off with finding him to get answers.

"You might want to get changed and search for him at the cabin, cause it looked like he was heading that way this morning," Namjoon spoke as he glanced at the younger from his coffee. "And it didn't come from me," he said with a smile.

Jungkook smiled back as he got up, ready to go search for Taehyung and tell him that he loved him.

"Taehyung? Taehyung!" he called as he walked down the same path that he did to the cabin, hoping he would answer, cause Jungkook actually felt like he was lost.

But his worries faded when he saw the familiar wooden structure in front of him. Smiling in accomplishment, he walked over and knocked on the door.

"Taehyung? I know you're there."

The door opened a few seconds later, revealing a ravenette with messy hair and a bandana.

"Jungkook. Come on in," he said as he ushered the younger inside

"Do you want anything? Food or drink?"

"Oh no, no thanks. I'm good."

"About last night-"

"It wasn't a mistake. It really wasn't."

"Two men don't randomly help each other Jungkook, that's not how it works," Taehyung said shaking his head.

"Is that what this is about? The fact that you just stepped in to help me?"

"Jungkook, don't," he warned.

"Or what?"

"I-you make me feel things that I shouldn't."

"What kind of things?"

"You make me feel the opposite of what I should be. You drive me to get more answers, to become a better person. Yes, I do want that, but I don't want you to fall in love with a blacklisted criminal and ruin your life."

"Who said I was doing that?" Jungkook asked as he took a step forward. "Who said that I was ruining my life? I have never felt loved or good about myself at all. I have never felt safe in the world, not even once until you stepped into my life. I felt like there was no meaning, so to actually have some ground feelings in my system makes me feel more human."

"Jungkook, you do understand-"

"I want a clear answer from you," the younger interrupted as he took another few steps forward. "Do you." Step. "Or do you not." Step. "Love me?" he questioned.

Their bodies were very close now, faces inches away from each other.

"So? Where's my answer?" Jungkook repeated as he looked up to meet Taehyung's gaze.

What Taehyung did next surprised him more. He kissed him. Jungkook was taken aback for a second as the older's lips crashed on his, but nevertheless, he gave in and kissed back.

The scent of forest and pine rushed into Jungkook's taste buds as Taehyung deepened the kiss a bit more. Jungkook's lips parted a bit more as Taehyung slid his tongue in between to taste out the flesh inside. After a few seconds of licking, he pulled away, but not before taking the other's bottom lip and nibbling on it.

"There. That's my answer," he breathed out, connecting their foreheads together.

To say Jungkook was overwhelmed was an understatement. He actually felt relieved to know that Taehyung felt something for him and that it wasn't one-sided like he had previously thought it was.

And Jungkook decided to take him by surprise too. He kissed him back.

Tongues clashed against each other as they were trying to relieve all forms of repressed emotion that they felt for each other.

"Mmm, Jungkook," Peck. "I have to," Smooch. "Tell you something," Taehyung said against the younger's lips as they walked backward kissing each other, all the way to the couch.

The two of them sat down and Taehyung pulled the lilac haired close to his chest and started to stroke his hair. "I want to keep you close to me as I talk about something that broke me years ago," he replied. Jungkook planted his face into the other's shoulder, nuzzling into it and waiting for the other to begin.

"I was seventeen years old at that time, a minor. It was a rainy night and we had a blackout. Mum had called me to come downstairs for dinner before it happened. There was a man - he seemed pretty old, around my parent's age. He took a knife and had this sinister smile that was seen in the shadows. I never got to saw his face because I was knocked out the second I witnessed their murder. FBI thought that I was the one who did it since I was the only person alive and so I ran, letting them think that I was the one that killed them."

"I was wandering in the streets for a bit, and somehow found myself on the dark side. Before I could question it, I was in the hands of an assassin who was fond of me. Said that I would be a great trainee. We always trained on mannequins and I never got to touch the real gun. He knew that I wasn't the one that killed my parents, and so he trained me with morals. Not to literally kill, but to leave them to bleed out as little as possible. Under his aid, I learned a lot more about murder profiling - how to assess my target, how to have a clear aim, and stuff. He had me prepared for everything," Taehyung chuckled.

"He died two years later on a sting mission though and he handed me this file of leads that he had on my case, telling me that I should do everything I can to clear my name. And I have. I've been following leads on the case for three years, yet somehow when you appear, it just coincidentally seems to fall in place. And I can't be any more thankful to have you in my life, sweetheart."

"I'm really glad you opened up to me about this," Jungkook said with a warm smile, rubbing his palm.

"Jungkook, you deserve the world and more," Taehyung stated as he pecked the younger's lips.

"I'm just a commoner who's grateful for your love to me Taehyungie."

"Sweetheart, let me take care of your pretty little soul," he replied, closing the gap between them.
