When my cast was finally removed and everything was healed, Jackson and I spent all our time planning for the wedding. Mostly because of our baby, who was now three and a half months along. Luckily I haven't had to let the hems of my pants out yet. Biggest downside is every morning for the past month I wake up and immediately get morning sickness. "You ok doll?" Jax asked as he held my hair back. Todays morning sickness was especially worse. "I think so." I sighed as I flushed last night's midnight snack down the drain. Jax then tended to Abel, who had just woke up.
It was my first day back at TM and I was extremely nervous. What if they know where I live? More than likely seeing as they knew I was with Jax. My thoughts we erratically popping into my head, causing a stress migraine. And like he knew it was coming on, Chucky slid me a hot chocolate. We made eye contact as if we had telepathy and had no reason to say a word aloud. Soon after Chuck's departure Happy walked into the office, locked both doors and shut all the blinds. It was just the two of us in that tiny office space. For a minute I wasn't sure whether his intentions were going to end well for me...or not.
"I heard you used to belong to another club." He stated.
"Yes" My response was meek.
"What's the name of the club?" His intense stare made it impossible to lie.
"The Ghost Riders."
"THE Ghost Riders?" Happy asked, emphasizing his words. As if there were another. I nodded.
We sat in silence for what felt like minutes, then he stood to his feet and exited the office. Like clockwork, Jackson walked in as he walked out, giving him a smile and pat on the shoulder as they passed each other.
"Hey baby." I greeted him as upbeat as I could muster. "What were you and Hap talking about?" He asked concerned. Luckily before I could answer Gemma walked in. "Hey Max. Jax." She then chuckled to herself. "Max and Jax." After tossing her purse on the desk, Gemma sat in the chair slowly. I gave Jax a look before he shut the door. "Gemma? Is everything alright?" I asked her as I inched closer to the now trembling woman. She removed her sunglasses revealing Clay's handy work from the night before. To see this strong woman be beaten down made my blood boil.
"Max?! MAX!!" I could hear Jax yelling after me as I ran to the clubhouse. I wasn't sure what I was about to do or how bad I would fuck up. I stormed through the double doors leading to the Chapel, where Clay and Chibs were sitting at the table. The two men haulted their previous conversation the moment I burst through the doors. Stunned at my own actions, I knew it was too late to turn back now as I pulled out my butterfly knife, thrusting it through Clay's hand and into the hardwood table. He screamed in agony, Chibs sat in complete shock as I stood in the corner of the room. Jackson came running into the room and threw himself in front of me right as Clay pulled a pistol from his cut, pointing it directly at me. "You stupid bitch!!" He screamed at me.
"Max?" Happy popped up out of nowhere. He saw Clay pointing a gun in my direction and put himself in front of Jax. "Hap? What are you doin'?" Clay asked confused.
Happy simply held up what looked like a photo, for Clay to see. Clay carefully studied the photo before sinking into his chair. Jackson then too looked around in confusion. "Miss Winter." Happy said to me as he handed me the photo. My whole world was about to crumble.
