Chapter 36| Bua ji

Rahul:"When rohan's marriage was fixed with Shruti, They had 5- 6 months in between their engagement and marriage dates. 2 weeks before the marriage Jiji came to stay with us and..."

Rohan:"And She created such a fuss in my marriage"(He said in anger)

Preeti:"What happened in your wedding bhabhi"

Shruti:"A..actually..I.."(tears filled her eyes. Rohan, who sat next to her, Pulled her into a side hug. She gave a weak smile at Rohan)"Actually...You might not know but me and Rohan ha..had fallen in love and confessed 2 months before our marriage. I had become very comfortable with this family in those months. Well when I met bua ji she...she didn't like me. It felt like she made it her job to find flaws in me and break our marriage. She taunted me for the way I dressed. The way I walked. The way I talked. She hated the fact that I could sit and  look up and talk to dad even though he was my father in law. Because in her opinion, girls shouldn't say a word in front of her in laws. Mom and Rohan had warned me about her, but I didn't think she was as difficult as they said she would be. Anyways I had understood  2 things after meeting her. She loved Papa and Rohan, Neil and Sid. But she despised every women in their life.  I ignored most of her words and taunts but one...one thing was very difficult to forget."

Rohan:"It happened 1 day before our wedding. On sangeet night, Shruti had a surprise dance for me. It..it was amazing and everyone praised her but..bua.."(He fisted his hands trying to control his anger. Ahana looked to see Neil and Sid along with Rahul looking angered while Angali looked at Shruti with a sad look)

Shruti:"A..after the guest left it was just my..my family and us.. Sh..She said questioned how my..my parents raised me..How could..I dance in front of all men as if...I was ...I was trying to gain attention  of other...other...men.. She questioned m.my character in..in front of my family"(Shruti said as tears flowed her eyes while Ahana and Preeti looked at her shocked..ho..how could a woman say that about another woman.)

Ahana who was sitting next to Shruti pulled her to a hug as her own eyes filled with tears. Shruti slowly moved away a few mins later and wiped her tears.

Shruti:"I am sorry .."

Ahana:"No bhabhi..I.. "(Ahana didn't know what to say. Then she heard Neil's speak and everyone turned to him)

Neil:(Looking down at his fingers with his jaw tight)"That day...a huge fight took up. Maa couldn't say anything. Whenever she did, bua would get a chance to hurt her. As for Papa, he was tied by mom's promise and Dadu and dadi's wish to keep bua happy.But Rohan bhai, Me and sid didn't stay quiet that day. Especially Bhai. But if no use, Later we heard her taunt Maa about our behavior. Before we could say anything, mom stopped us."

Sid:"dad stopped talking to her the rest of the stay she was here, which in a way reduced her taunts as she was too busy trying to make dad talk to her."

Rahul:"When she left I Thought things would change now. I mean she apologized for her words. Ofcourse not to Shruti, because even after 10 times of telling her to do so. She apologized saying she is sorry for how we felt for her words not that her words were wrong."

Angali:"After that we didn't meet her for years. Then Neil's marriage was fixed with A..Aarti"(She said looking at Neil conflicted of how he will react with them remembering her but he just gave his mom a small weak smile assuring her he is fine)"Neil and Aarti were married 3 months after they met. We loved her at first sight just like we did with all 3 of you.  I remember 3 days before their wedding, Neil as per Aarti's wish proposed to her for marriage. It was her dream, Though they had a arrange marriage, She wanted a proposal which Neil Gave her. It was sweet moments. Everyone was so happy "(She smiled remember that day, but then looked at Ahana with a guilty face)"So..sorry beta...I shouldn't have mentioned it"
