The weekend after the warehouse trip, Colby and I meet up with Nate and Alex to film at a haunted house and barn that Colby has a personal experience with. I remember the night he came back from the house and I could tell something happened that changed him.

Flashback

Colby taps on my window in the middle of the night. I rise and head to the window, rubbing my eyes, trying to wake up. I open the window and he climbs in my room. I notice that he's shaking.

"Colby, what happened?"

"I went to the barn. Something was there man. A little girl died there, you know? I swear she's still there," he rambles out.

"Hey, you're safe now. Do you want to stay the night?" I ask.

"Please," he says.

I hand him a pair of sweats and he heads to my bathroom to change. He comes back and we climb into my bed, laying down next to each other.

We arrive at the house to find that it's gone except for a chimney. We stand side by side, staring at what remains of the house.

"What do you think happened?" Nate asks, moving closer to examine the remains of the house.

Colby approaches the house too and says, "it almost looks burned down."

"Yeah it does," Nate says.

"Do you think the barn was burned down too?" I ask.

"We can go check, it was in the back."

We head to the back and find that the barn is still standing. It's weird because why would the barn be spared from the fire. I push the thought from my mind and enter the barn after the others. The haybales are still there from when we were there last. We goof around for a bit, climbing the haybales and having races. After sitting on the haybales for a bit, Alex suggests that we explore the upstairs.

Colby's POV

We're exploring the upstairs of the barn when I hear a cracking sound and a grunt of pain. I turn off the camera, run over to the source of the sound and see that Sam has fallen through the floor. We work to pull him out of the floor, Sam grunting as we try to get him out of the floor.

"Be careful with him please," I say.

We finally pull Sam from the hole in the floor and I pull him into my arms.

"Are you alright? Are you hurt?!"

"My leg hurts a lot, and my ankle. I don't think I can walk," he says.

I pick him and carry him out of the barn and to my car. Nate and Alex follow behind me, none of us talking much. I put Sam in the passenger seat and drive us to urgent care. When we arrive, we wait before about ten minutes before Sam is called back. I help him back to the exam room and he sits down on the chair. The doctor comes in and examines his ankle. He doesn't feel anything that's broken but wants him to get him an X-ray before he leaves. They bring him to X-ray and I sit in the waiting room because they wont let me back there. He comes out thirty minutes later in a wheelchair. I spring up and run to him.

"Sammy? What happened? Why are you in a wheelchair?!"

"It's okay, Colbs. I was a little unsteady on my feet so they put me in a wheelchair to help."

"Is anything broken?" I ask.

"No, just a sprain," he says.

"How can I help? What do you need?" I ask.

"I just want to go home, get some rest," he says.

"Of course, let's go," I say.

I bring him to the entry of the hospital while I go to get the car. I drive the car to the entrance and help Sam into the car. I drive us back to my house and help him to my room. He lays down on the bed and I put a blanket over him. I get ready for bed and lay down next to him.
