Valera woke with ease the next morning and relaxed in bed a while until Heisenberg arrived with food. She threw him a grateful smile and took the plate happily.

"Room service is getting better by the day." she teased. Heisenberg scoffed.

"You're lucky I don't make you go all the way down to the kitchen to get it. I might just have to start doing that though. Else you might just sit up here and collect dust." Heisenberg retorted. Valera laughed a little and began to eat, happily and silently accepting his company as he sat in a chair.

"So what's on the agenda today?" Valera asked. Heisenberg shot her a bit of a look.

"Nothing, actually. I figured today would be more of a hang out day. You could ask me some questions, I could ask you some questions..." Heisenberg said. He seemed genuinely interested in Valera now and she wasn't exactly opposed to the idea.

"Alright, fine. Tell me about you while I eat." she said. Heisenberg smiled a little.

"Well, my whole life story can be summed up into a good 4 or 5 sentences. Karl Heisenberg-" Valera's laugh cut into his speaking. He looked at her expectantly and she covered her mouth.

"Karl?" she teased. Heisenberg's cheeks warmed in the slightest.

"Hey, I didn't make fun of your name, what gives you the right to make fun of mine?" he muttered. Valera looked up at him with a purely happy expression.

"Fine, fine, continue." she said, calming down her laughter to a point where he could begin talking again.

"Karl Heisenberg was born as eldest son to the original Lord Heisenberg, who cared for the factory. Mother Miranda came around and nabbed me, and experimented on me until I became what I am today, basically a metal manipulator, meaning I can just make metal things float around. She killed off my family, took the factory from them all the while experimenting on me. When she was successful, she returned the factory to me and threw me into her stupid family." Heisenberg said. Valera hummed.

"But that doesn't explain too well the need to use humans as soldiers." Valera pointed out. Heisenberg sighed.

"Humans are, obviously, the most advanced species on the face of the earth, there was nothing better to use. Dogs are useful to an extent, as well as every other animal that barely has a brain." Heisenberg said. Valera just nodded, understanding a little bit better why humans were used, but still thinking that the soldiers were overall immoral. Heisenberg gently took the empty plate from her hands and leaned forwards now, looking her dead in the eye.

"Now tell me about you. I want to know every little piece, I don't care how long it takes." he said. Valera leaned back and stared at him a little before frowning and looking away.

"Whatever... When I was 10, my dad tried to kill my mom when he was drunk. He was unhappy in the marriage and they'd overall agreed to stay together until I was done with school. My dad, he wasn't terrible. He was usually nice and calm but he was a different man after a few drinks. He came home from the bar that night and he was furious, he wanted out as soon as possible. My mom was terrified. She was a lovely lady, she really was, and she didn't mean to kill him. Dad started beating on her and he grabbed a knife at one point.

I remember Mom telling me to go upstairs in my room and wait. I wanted to, but I couldn't leave, my feet wouldn't move... it was terrible. My dad landed a few slices and was going to straight kill my mom, but she got to the pistol in the drawer first. She didn't mean to shoot, last time someone used it, they forgot to put the safety back on. She shot him in the gut twice, both times by accident. The pistol double fired and shot him again after the first shot.

Mom was traumatized. She didn't mean to, she was only acting in self defense. I remember she was mumbling to herself about how she couldn't just leave me here. She told me to be brave and close my eyes and she shot me. She tried to, at least. Got me good on the side, and she thought she'd killed me. I remember watching her kill herself after that... God, it was bad." Valera said. Heisenberg was listening intently as she spoke, noticing how her right hand came around her body and touched the left side of her body.

"The neighbors called the cops and I got taken to a hospital and got all fixed up and I remember a nice man in a suit was talking to me about an orphanage, but I'd seen what orphanages did and I didn't want to be there. So, at the sweet age of 10, I fled the country. I went off the radar after going through Missouri and found my way through the Midwest. I went back on the radar in northern Iowa, then back off in rural Minnesota.

Back down in Texas before I headed for the Midwest, there's a big blank spot in my memory. I don't know what I did, but something or another really wanted me to go with them, that's about all I remember. I was told I did something bad, but I don't know what it was." Valera said. Heisenberg held his tongue as Valera heaved a sigh.

"I met some nice people in Canada and they helped me stay off the radar for a long time, just about 5 years. I thought I was home free. They took me to piano lessons, guitar lessons, cadet training, they bought me a dog... the dog's name was Atari, if you were wondering. She was a coonhound. I had just about everything I wanted. I've still yet to figure out who tipped the government on where I was. They..." Valera began to get a little choked up. Heisenberg waited patiently, not rushing her in the slightest.

"They fucking government, man. They killed those nice folks in Canada for no reason. Burned the fucking house down... there was no need to. They could have just let them be, let me be... Allie and Ed were killed right at the dinner table. Probably shot by snipers or some shit.

When they came down to get me, I had Atari with me. They told me to come out and that they had the place surrounded... somehow I got away. Atari was with me and we started our journey around the whole damn world. I got taught a little French up in Canada so I figured why not use it. I went to France to escape all that shit, only to find that I was wanted internationally, for millions of dollars. Pissed me off, the one thing they missed though was Atari. You'd think a dog would be a dead giveaway but they never listed a dog in the warrants so it gave me some time to get away when police showed up.

Atari ended up in a bear trap on the south side of the Forêt de Marly and I figured it would be best to make sure she wasn't going to hurt much longer. And then, I was without a companion. I almost got caught after that in the forest but I got away. In the Netherlands I got caught but I remember none of what happened there. All I know is I escaped again. Then just a lot of boring tourist-y things while on the run from whatever the hell it was called, the BSAA, something like that." Valera finished. Heisenberg was a little in awe. She was exactly everything he'd been looking for for so long.

"Well, I'll be damned. You are the real deal." he said. Valera gave him a funny look.

"Excuse me?" she said. Heiensberg stood and began to pace, something Valera noticed he did a lot.

"You're special, Valera. The BSAA wanted you for a reason. You're one of a kind. No one as special as you will ever show up again. You're the person I've been looking for for so fucking long..." Heisenberg muttered. Valera's cheeks warmed as he glanced at her and held eye contact.

"Valera, you are... so insanely special, I can't express it." Heisenberg whispered. He'd sat down again and taken her hands carefully, and Valera didn't stop him. He smiled a little as his thumb ran over the top of her hand.

"I hope you start to realize I'm not as terrible as you sometimes think I am." Heisenberg murmured. Valera's cheeks grew pink and she broke eye contact, making Heisenberg smile. He let go of her hands again and stood, gently patting her dirty slicked back hair.

"I'll make sure there's some shampoo in the shower tomorrow. You need it." he teased quietly, though it had less playfulness and more of that damned tenderness again.
