Valera was really a lot stronger than Heisenberg had initially thought, mainly personality wise. He thought she'd be easy to control, but she proved to be the complete opposite. She'd always give him dirty looks every time he'd enter the room and would continue to give him asshole-ish remarks any time he'd say something.
"When are you going to stop and give in, Valera?" Heisenberg asked one day. Valera leaned back contently and poked at the still wrapped arm. She shrugged and looked up at him.
"Probably never. No one's been able to break me before, why would I let you now?" she taunted. Heisenberg rolled his eyes and glared at her a second before dragging a chair from the desk and sitting in it. He looked her over closely and sighed.
"Look, Val, I've said this countless times before, I need you. Not for anything other than just my plan." Heisenberg said. His voice was low, but that manipulation had lost its strength as Valera had begun to get used to it.
"You know, you've never enlightened me, what is your plan? Why is there a plan?" Valera asked, seeming genuinely interested for once. Heisenberg waved his hand at her and rolled his eyes.
"That's not important-" Valera huffed and threw a pillow at him, returning the glare he'd given her earlier.
"It sure as hell is, I don't know how you expect me to help you if all you do is hide what I'm supposed to be helping with! I swear, you're dumber than a pile of rocks." Valera said, leaning back. Heisenberg chucked the pillow back at her, which she then returned once more.
"I'm not dumb, Valera, it's just that if I tell you what you're supposed to be helping with, you wouldn't be of any help because you wouldn't want to actually help." Heisenberg said. Valera rolled her eyes.
"I don't want to help in the first place, prick." she spat. Heisenberg threw the pillow at her once more and she threw it back again. And so began the throwing of the pillow, back and forth until Valera began to try and hold back laughter. As the pillow hit her in the face, she began to laugh, startling Heisenberg a little.
Valera had something similar to a tinkling laugh, a light and happy noise that seemed to almost immediately brighten the dark room. Heisenberg stared at her as she tried to control her laughing.
"What- why are you laughing?" Heisenberg asked. Valera looked up and wiped a tear forming at the corner of her eye.
"Because we're acting like children and it's funny! Don't you ever actually laugh?" Valera said. Heisenberg had to think about it, but he never really did. He hadn't actually laughed in quite a long time. Silence fell between them as Valera stopped laughing and waited for an actual answer.
"I'm going to take that as an, I've never laughed in my whole life." Valera teased. Heisenberg was, admittedly, a little hurt, but he tried not to show it.
"I've laughed plenty of times before." he stated. Valera scoffed.
"I doubt that. You're a grumpy old guy who's barely ever seen daylight and never actually laughed in his entire life." Valera said, hitting just about every sore spot in Heisenberg's brain. He stood up abruptly and glared down at Valera, who'd begun to laugh again.
"Sit down, old man, I'm sorry." Valera said. Heisenberg frowned and looked at her closely before sitting down again.
"You owe me at least a little bit of explanation, so let's start off easy. Why did Avery keep calling you 'Lord Heisenberg'?" Valera asked. Heisenberg sighed and leaned back in the metal chair, looking exhausted by Valera's behavior.
"The village is split up into roughly 4 sections. There's the reservoir, the castle, the manor, then the factory. Each section has someone that sort of rules over them, while the middle village and the four sections are ruled by Mother Miranda." Heisenberg explained. Valera's eyes narrowed, trying to further understand what Heisenberg was saying without him saying it.
