She had succumbed to the madness, and her spiritual body departed from her physical one. She looked down on her limp body for the very last time, not even attempting to take in what was happening. All she could do was shed a tear, mourning her own death.
"To whatever higher power is out there, fuck you."

One month earlier
Samuel, a recently employed, 58 year old widower, clicked his heels together, staring at the house in front of him.
"Alright honey, we're home!" He chirped. Eva, his 15 year old daughter emerged from the back of the Jeep, with George the mutt, hot on her tracks.
"Yeah sure. Like I'll ever call this dump a home. Tell me again why we had to move away from Nebraska?" Samuel scoffed.
"I got a job in a law-firm, but it required moving here. Try paying more attention!" He tapped her forehead teasingly. She rolled her eyes.
"Detroit of all places? I mean sure it's pretty cool how Canada is so close... but that's not the point!"
"Eva. The company was nice enough to loan us money for renovations! Plus, look at the history of this place!" Eva popped her earbuds back in secretly, completely ignoring her father.
She stared forward at the hideous onnings, practically trying to fall off of the decomposing wooden exterior. Her eyes darted everywhere, trying to find something about the first impression of the exterior that she liked. After several minutes of searching, she couldn't find a single aesthetic feature that looked up to her standards.
She couldn't stand looking at the house right now, so she turned around, and saw metal giants. Hundreds; Maybe thousands of them. She hadn't looked out the windows on the way to her location once, so she hadn't even noticed that they were there. All she could see were factories, and bundles of smoke polluting the sky.
"Are you even listening to me?" Samuel whined.
"Yeah of course I am! Keep- keep going dad." She replied.
