Eva woke up screaming and crying. Doctors came rushing in, trying to calm her down. Eva clung to a young blonde nurse next to her and wept into her scrub.
"It's alright, it's alright." She comforted her, rubbing her back. When she looked at her hands when she pulled them back, she screamed. Blood was all over her hands. The doctors quickly laid Eva on her stomach and flattened the back rest.
The same blonde nurse cleaned her hands and went up to back up Eva. "OK darling, I don't know how it happened, but your back is bleeding badly. We're gonna check it out, okay?" Eva nodded. The nurse held her hand.
One of the doctors was on the phone, one was documenting what was happening, and one approached Eva with a scalpel. He gingerly cut the fabric off of her gown, revealing her back. Once it was revealed, they all stared in horror.
The man placed the scalpel down, and cleaned the blood off of her back with a damp towel. He stared in confusion. The female name Poppy was enshrined into her skin. The documenter took a picture, wide eyed.
"What's going on!?" Eva said worriedly. The blonde nurse was shaking. "Eva, do you know anyone named Poppy?"
"No... why?" The nurse looked at the documenter, signaling to show her the photo. Eva looked at the photo with tears in her eyes. "That's my back?" The nurse nodded. "Look into the database to see if there are any patients named poppy. If necessary , we will get the police involved." The other doctors nodded.
The doctor that cleaned her back walked to Eva's side. "Hey sweetie, I hate to say it, but we're going to have to give you stitches back here." Eva clenched her fists.
"Okay."
"You're really brave for dealing with this." He started to inject her with novocaine in several spots across her back until she went numb. "That's odd, she stopped bleeding." Okay Carl, stitch her up.
(Stitching her back up)
"Y'know, I was stabbed through the heart facing down in my dream." Everyone in the room froze and looked at her in horror. "Yeah, it woke me up." "Y- your fore- your fore- your forehead..." "Yeah I do feel a bit of pressure there. How'd you know?" The doctor backed up absolutely horrified. He blinked, and the symbol was gone. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry! I thought there was an upside down cross there!" Eva shrugged it off, even though she was clearly bamboozled.
"Okay, we're all done with the stitches." The males left the room and the females wrapped her wound in gauze. "Done. Now do yourself a favor and give your wound as little contact with water as possible."
"My name is Cindy," the blonde nurse said to Eva, "and press this button right here if you need me!" She smiled sweetly, still completely terrified of the girl.
"Okay, goodbye Cindy. Thanks." Eva mumbled in a fetal position. The blonde finally left the room, leaving her on her own.
Every time I fall asleep weird shit keeps happening! What is going on? Why me!? Eva laid back down and winced at the pain of putting pressure on her back. She sighed. I wonder where mom is right now. A lone tear slid down her cheek. She listened to the people in the hall and heard a familiar voice.
"I'm right here."
Eva jolted up from her bed. "Mom?" She stumbled around the room in an attempt to walk. "Mom?" No answer. "Damn it! Looks like I'm just tired."
She hopped back into her hospital bed alone with her thoughts that she discussed with herself. "No matter what, I can't fall asleep. I can't take this shit anymore. Okay. That's a plan. But what happened to George? I hope he's okay..." Her eyes widened. That voice I heard before hitting my head was the same one as that woman in my dream. What the fuck is going on!? She touched her head wrapped in gauze. "Am I- a- am I going insane?"

Two days later. Eva's appearance had changed quite a bit, and the medical unit was starting to fear the girl. Her once fluffy brown hair had turned stringy and white. The whites of her eyes were reddened. Her skin was pale as that of Snow White. She hadn't slept for over 48 hours.
"Good news Eva!" Cindy came in smiling. Eva sitting in her fetal position did not move a muscle. "You get to go home now! You are being released!" Eva sharply mover her head to face her, eyes like owls eyes.
"NO! I CANT GO BACK TO THAT WRETCHED PLACE AGAIN!" she lunged forwards and held Cindy's arm with her shaky hands. "PLEASE I'M BEGGING YOU!"
"Eva! Calm down!" Four doctors barged into the room and restrained her at her wrists and ankles. One of them observed her carefully. "Signs of fatigue. You haven't been sleeping have you? Why?" Eva glared at him and screamed "IF I FALL ASLEEP I'LL SEE THAT BITCH AGAIN!" She struggled against the restraints. "LET ME GO!" "Prepare the injection." Another man nodded. "3, 2, 1."
Blackout. Eva was still awake, but she couldn't see anything or move her body at all. A doctor answered a call and a gloomy look spread across his face. "Her dog, George, is dead. Poor girl...""We're sending her to the psych ward- code 5150." another doctor said. Cindy was shaking in one of the doctors arms, who was trying to comfort her. She had seen a lot of things, but surely nothing quite like this. "Sir, I know for a fact that she won't consent to this." He sighed. "Call a 304 her case is to severe for a 302." Everyone in the room nodded.
Fuck. Since Eva couldn't do anything to stay awake, she finally fell into the void of slumber, aware that she would wake up in a building full of even more crazy people than this one.
