Endless Bonds

The Acceptance

Today is the day where my life depends on the biggest test I will even take. The UA entrance exam. I woke up early this morning to each a decent breakfast so I had some energy in me for the exam.

"Iris, today is the day!"

"Yes, I know I am excited. Now get out of my room and let me finish sleeping. I still have 10 minutes till my alarm goes off, so get out."

Iris has never been a morning person, but she is quite the night owl with all her nights of staying up late and watching anime.

Within 10 minutes I heard Iris in the shower and I decided to start looking through my closet for an outfit to wear. I know that it is just an exam, but it needs to be functional enough for me to move in.

Unfortunately, most of the clothes I wore for training were all dirty or completely worn out so my options were limited. I went with a pair of black leggings, a red cropped top and a leather jacket.

"Breakfast time. Hurry, you will be late."

"Coming Grandma!"

"Mhhm, pancakes. My favourite!"

"You don't like pancakes. I do. You like eggs."

Iris was right, I do prefer eggs but pancakes are good too.

"You girls ready? Do you think you will do good?"

"I hope we do. Iris and I have been training hard these past few weeks so we are much stronger now. Also, all this training won't go all to waste."

"Yes, you girls trained a lot with those two boys. Danki and Zero right?"

"Denki and Sero grandma, and yes. Mei and I trained with them. It benefits both parties and we also became great friends."

"Well, those two boys are great children. Bless their parents for raising them right. Maybe someday you two will work up to the courage to ask them out." Grandma starts to make suggestive noises.

"Especially you Iris. You and that young Sero boy would be a great match for each other. I can feel it in my bones." Iris starts to cough while eating her food.

"Okay, Mei. I think that's our cue to leave and get this exam done. Come on let's go." She grabs my arms and starters to drag us out of the house taking sour bags with us.

"You know, you and Denki would be good together too."

"What? No. He's just a good friend. Besides we haven't known each other for that long."

"Who cares. He is cute too, so that is a plus."

"Shut up already."

I couldn't help but look away and slightly blush at the comment. We continue to walk until we finally arrive at the school. We walked in and headed to the orientation room and chose seats near the middle.

It took about 15-20 minutes until all the other students have finally arrived. Lights begin to turn on and Present Mic begins to talk.

"What's up UA Candidates? Thank you for tuning in to me, your school DJ. Come on and let me hear ya."

The whole congregation is left in silence, not a single person makes a peep.

"Keeping int mellow huh? That's fine. I will skip straight to the main show. Let's talk about how this practical exam is going to go down okay?"

Present Mic begins to explain how the exam will work and how we are rewarded points. I look over to Iris's card and see that she is assigned to sector C while I am in B.
