| areum's pov | my last class was finally over! i was so excited to go home because i had something coming in the mail for me, that i ordered. home was only about a five minute walk from school.
i was running because there were thefts in the area stealing packages lately, so i really wanted to get home fast. i was crossing the street without looking. i figured there were no cars since usually there wasn't, but i was wrong. i was halfway crossing the street when suddenly i looked to my left and saw a car driving straight at me. i tried running from it but it was too late...
suddenly i felt my body crushed down by the car, i fell on the concrete floor. my head smashed onto the concrete and everything became all black.
| third person pov | "we are doing everything we can, but i am not sure she is able to make it" the doctor said to areum's parents. her mother fell to the floor, with her hands covering her face, crying.
"the car had crushed her bones badly, she's lost a lot of blood. we've tried blood donations but the blood is unfortunately not saving her. i'm so sorry mrs and mr lee" the doctor said, he didn't know any other way to put it that she wasn't going to be able to live anymore.
areum's parents walked into the room she was in, they both went onto her side and held onto her hand. they cried knowing she was gonna be gone. they were angry at the person who had killed her, they were angry at areum for not looking both ways.
hours passed by, her parents were still on her side crying while holding onto her. they didn't want to let her go. suddenly the heart beat monitor flatlined and doctors came rushing in. her parents had to step out of the room.
"come on areum" the doctor said as he did cpr for her blood to flow again. the doctors were doing everything they could until too much time was passing by already. she was pale as ever, she was gone...
"time of death, 10:55" the doctor said as they walked out having to do the hardest part of their job.
"i'm sorry mrs and mr lee, she didn't make it" the doctor said. they both ran into the room as they held onto their daughter one last time crying.
| areum's pov | i could feel my body dying and giving up. it was weird because i could hear my parents crying for me, but i wasn't able to do or say anything. i was in pain. as my heart was flatlining, everything became bright although i couldn't see.
i was scared of dying. my worst memories were haunting me. it all came rushing in and i couldn't take it anymore. i wanted to scream but i couldn't. i wanted it to stop. it felt as if i was dropping through a hole of memories.
"hello areum" i heard a voice say and suddenly the memories stopped.
"you can open your eyes" the voice said again. but i'm dead? i thought. i slowly opened my eyes as i saw a man standing in front of me. i looked around my surroundings and i was standing in a field of grass.
"where am i?" i asked the man. he chuckled at me.
"you're in heaven" he said and i looked at him shocked. i couldn't believe this was real.
"you got through the hard part, but now i have to go through the hard part" he said and i looked at him confused as what he meant.
"i'm a passer, meaning i'm going to send you to the place where you want to be before reincarnation happens. you have to pass through my body to get there. but i have to feel the pain of your death as you pass through" he said with a smile even though he knew how much it was going to hurt.
"i know this must be a lot for you, i could feel your pain already from here. but you're going to have to choose a place and time to go to right now areum" he said.
"you have three options based on your past life. first is mushroom city, it's a city built of mushrooms. second is fairy land, you'll most likely have powers and become a fairy. and lastly is underwater world, you'll be living underwater. please pick and choose wisely" he said. i thought about the options and i was stuck. how was i supposed to know which to choose? i wanted to pick somewhere that would be easy to live in.
"i'll choose fairy land" i said, and he asked if i was sure and i nodded.
"i wish you the best of luck areum, i have no idea when you'll reincarnate but someone will tell you in the world" he said as he led out his hand for me to grab. i held onto his arm as i felt my body flowed into and through his body. i could hear him screaming having to feel the pain of my death.
suddenly, i fell into the fairy world.
