| areum's pov | it was the next morning after last night. sunghoon was still sleeping while holding me in his arms tightly. the lighting was completely gone. i looked at the notebook i burned and looked at my hands. how was i able to do that?
"you're awake?" sunghoon said in a deep voice and i looked at him. his eyes were half open and he was smiling.
"go back to sleep, class isn't until an hour" i said and he fell back asleep instantly. i removed sunghoons arm and got up but then sunghoon grabbed my arm and pulled me down.
"no stay with me" he said whining. i scoffed at him. he was such a baby in the morning. he wrapped his arms around me and i wasn't able to move at all.
"i cant sleep without you here now" he said smiling with his eyes closed. i decided to just stay and snuggle with him. sunghoon was always warm.
an hour passed by and it was time to get ready for class, i woke up sunghoon.
"ughhh cant we just skip, what if people hate us anyways" sunghoon said and i smacked him playfully.
"you heard what niki said, and get up before i pour water on you" i said and he got up quickly. he chuckled and left to his room to get changed. joohee came out and said she would meet us there. we headed for class.
"alright class, today is about doing something you've never done. turning your powers into something more. for an example, joohee instead of picking up the heavy items, why not break into them" miss hemline said and joohee nodded as she broke into the brick instantly.
"your turn areum, try to boil the water in the glass" miss hemline said and i nodded. i closed my eyes and focused on making the water boil.
"oh my god no no" miss hemline said and i opened my eyes and saw fire on top of the water. what was going on?
"sunghoon was that you?" miss hemline said and he shook his head no. i decided to try again and suddenly the water was boiling now. i was so confused.
"what is going on" miss hemline said and told sunghoon to try his powers. sunghoon made the water boil too but he also lit the top on fire. me and sunghoon looked at each other in shock.
"what did you guys do" miss hemline said scared. was she scared of us?
"i've never seen fairies have two powers in them" she claimed and everyone in the class was looking at us. i couldn't tell how they were feeling. everything was overwhelming. it was like people were nervous. i got up and left the classroom.
"areum! areum!" sunghoon shouted and followed after me. i went outside and back into the same spot in the woods.
"sunghoon, we have to try again. this could be the cause of what's happening" i said and he didn't want to.
"what if it gets worse?" he said scared.
"we have to try" i said and he nodded. he held onto my hands and closed his eyes and so did i. seconds later we were in the air and our powers were swirling around us again. i opened my eyes and looked at sunghoon. the feeling felt amazing, i could feel everything. suddenly sunghoon hugged me tightly as we were in the air still. the feeling was getting stronger and stronger. i pulled away to look at sunghoon in his eyes, his hands cupped my face. he started leaning in but suddenly we dropped onto the floor.
"i- i- i've never seen anything like this besides the book" miss hemline said as she was standing close by. i looked at her in pain as we just fell hard onto the ground.
"how did you guys do that?" miss hemline asked. i explained to her what we do in order for it to happen. sunghoon looked at me shocked. i'm guessing he didn't want me to tell her.
"you're exactly like ari and sangwoo" miss hemline said as she walked over to us and helped us up.
"areum, your eyes" miss hemline said and i gave her a weird look.
"what about them?" i asked.
"they're turning red, sunghoons yours are turning red" miss hemline said and i looked at sunghoon. his eyes were turning red.
"both of your eyes were brown, what is happening?" miss hemline asked as if we would know. she quickly brought us inside the building and inside her office. there was a mirror inside her office and i looked at myself. miss hemline grabbed the book again from last time.
"it says here that when they would do that sort of thing in the air, they would become stronger. they've never went into detail about what happens after that. ari and sangwoo never went into detail" miss hemline said. will my eyes turn back?
"here you can see a picture of ari and sangwoo, their eyes were red and blue also like yours" miss hemline said as she found a picture in actual color. most of the pictures were black and white.
"you guys can't be doing that again. you don't know what it can do to you both" miss hemline said and i couldn't believe what she said. it seems as if she didn't want us to do anything anymore.
"we won't miss hemline" sunghoon said and grabbing my wrist and walked out. he dragged me to our dorm.
"what are you doing" i said and he locked the doors and we went into his room and he locked the door there too.
"you can't tell miss hemline everything that's happening to us or to anyone. there must be a reason ari and sangwoo didn't say anything. i'm just worried what miss hemline would think or wanna do to us if she finds out" sunghoon said and i understood what he meant.
"i'm sorry i should've been more careful, i won't say a thing again" i said and he just smiled at me. he ruffled my hair. he looked pretty with blue eyes.
"i like your eyes" i said smiling.
"are you saying you didn't like them before" he said pouting and i smacked him playfully.
"of course i did" i said chuckling.
"do you wanna try to use our powers" sunghoon asked and i agreed. the only way to find a way to control and learn from it was to use it. sunghoon put a branch and a glass of water on the floor. i went first, i focused on feelings. i wanted to put the branch on fire first then the water to plop up and float. seconds later, the branch was on fire and the water plopped up, so i forced the water to put out the fire.
"you're already amazing" sunghoon said. it was sunghoons turn and he did the same thing. we had both of our powers now.
"when we do that thing in the air, i don't even know what to call it. i think it combines our powers which made both of us have it. that's why people said ari and sangwoo were so strong cause they both had two different powers" sunghoon said and i nodded. it made sense.
"let's go and meet up with the others before they get worried" sunghoon said and we left to meet up with them.
