I looked at Christian for a few moments, as I was not sure how to take in what it was that he had just said. There were so many thoughts rushing through my head all at once, I just wanted to put it all to sleep. It was impossible to sleep with the insanely loud gun shots flying past me how ever.
I was not sure what was real any more, and I wish that my father and my mother were here to guide me through all of this, just as they had done when I was much younger, before all of this chaos had unfolded. They were gone, and at some point I had to face the sad reality, and I had to wake up from this false sense of hope, and fake dream that I was in.
I blinked a few times, as I was not sure what was going on with me. I was not sure what was going on at the current moment, and I was not sure what to believe any more. A part of me wanted to say that Angela could have in fact betrayed our community, just as Shannon had told me.
I really did not know my sister all that well, but I knew that she was madly in love with Tony, even after the fact that he had been presumed dead. He was alive in fact how ever, and a part of me wanted to push it away, but at the same time, I felt like she would have done any thing possible to get him back.
Did that mean that she would risk me and Liam getting killed for that? I was not sure, like I had said before, I really did not know my sister all that well, as she kind of hid a lot of her emotion, which I had assumed was to make her look strong, so that she could raise me and Liam.
I was starting to wonder if she was like that, because she was not a good person though. I shivered at the thought of it, as I shook my head at the same time too, as I knew that I would have plenty of time to think on all of that mess, once we were to get out of this sticky situation that we were in right now.
We had nearly gotten shot, by Shannon apparently, or at least the people that were at the community house, that were doing as Shannon told them. I felt like I wanted to say Shannon was doing some thing evil, and it was her, that was the reason that all of this had happened to our home.
I was not sure if that were the case how ever, even if she did not have any one here that she loved, I knew at the very least, that she loved this place that we lived at. I had to assume that she would not betray us, and tear all of that away from her self for no reason what so ever, like the reason that Angela would have had.
If she knew about Tony, than would Tony have told us? I was not sure if that were the case or not, as I could tell that he seemed to be a lot different of a person that he had been before. I shook my head though, as I lowered my head to the ground at the exact same time as well.
I knew that I had to have my thoughts on the fact that people were shooting in our direction, and as to why that was so as well. I thought about it for some time, as I felt like there was no possible way that they could be shooting at us right? That made 0 sense to me, as I was sure that they could not notice us through the thousands of the dead that were in front of them.
It also did not make sense either, as to the fact that they had told Tyler to stay at the walls as well. They had been shooting long before we had got to this place that we were at right now. It was hard to think on what was going on, especially with the loud shots that were firing as to what seemed to be all around us at the moment.
Every once in a while, it seemed like they would stop, but just as soon as it felt like it was all over, I would then hear the gun shots start all over again, like they had never stopped in the first place. It was chaos, and where I was at, right now, it did not make me feel any better either, as I did not feel safe at all behind this house.
At any moment I felt like the dead could come right around the corner, and tear us apart. I knew they were too distracted by the gun shots how ever, so there was no way that they were coming over to us any time soon. If the gun shots did stop in fact, than we should have plenty of time to get out of here before the dead did start to come over to us.
The gun shots did not seem like they were ever going to stop how ever, as it seemed like they had an endless amount of rounds in them. I stared at the ground for a bit of time, as it all felt a bit hopeless to me, as it dawned on me just how much I had lost by the end of all of this.
I felt like there was no chance left, and there was certainly no good left in the world at all. I looked at the pistol that was in my hand, as I had not noticed that I had even pulled it out in the first place, as if I thought that I could take out the entire heard of them dead, with just one simple round.
I looked at it for a few moments, as I was almost tempted to put the gun in to my mouth, and just give up on all of this. Maybe then, I would go and get to see my mother, and my father again. I smiled at the thought of them, as I suddenly began to lift my gun up to my face at the same time as well.
It was not the first time that I had thought of ending it all, as I had nearly gotten to the point of doing so, when I had lost my mother. I was too young to think on all of it when I lost my father, but I had all the tools ready to end my life on me, when I was alone at the home, taking care of my baby brother.
As I put my gun right up to my face, I suddenly felt a strong force stop me from doing so, as I opened my eyes, and I blinked a few times, as I saw that the person that had stopped me from doing so, had been in fact Christian. It was as if I had thought that it could have been any one else.
I saw his eyes squinted at me, as if he was thinking that I was some kind of idiot, for wanting to blow my brains out. It was as if he thought that my life was amazing, and so was the world that was around me as well. It was not the case at all how ever, as I felt like I had no other choice.
Christian then just shook his head at me, as if it was his way of telling me not to do what it was that I was going to do. I almost wanted to laugh, though none of this was funny at all to me, as I stared down at the ground once again, until I heard Christian begin to speak up to me.
I stood in the same spot for a bit of some time, as I was not so sure what was going on with me. After a few more seconds how ever, I did lift my head up to Christian, to acknowledge the fact that I heard what he was saying to me, as I then in fact did listen to him, as he began to speak.
"What are you doing kid? You can't just do that shit... Not on me... I can't live with that on my mind... You have a brother at home that needs you more than ever... I know that you love him, and you can't just give up on him..." He said to me. I looked at him for just a few moments in time, as I saw that he still had his eyes squinted at me.
I blinked a few times, as I had a bit of a blank look on my face, as if I had not heard a word of what it was that he had just said to me. He looked like he almost wanted to give up as well, just not in the same way that I had thought of doing how ever.
I stood there for a bit longer, as my mind was racing through so many thoughts all at once, but at the same time as well, I kind of felt a little bit brain dead. I shook my head, as I knew that I should not, as I then began to think on what it was that Christian had said to me just now.
I have a brother at home... Yes... I do love him, as it felt like at times, that he was all that I had left in this world. I was a bit confused as to what he was talking about. I looked around me for just a few moments, as my eyes locked on to the fact that I had a gun in my hand for some reason.
I also saw at the same time too, that Christian had his hand held on to me a bit hard. I blinked a few times, as I was a bit lost on as to why he was doing so, until it then hit me, as to what it was that I had just been thinking about, and what it was that I was seconds away from doing at the same time.
I was going on instinct, and it kind of scared me as to the fact that I might have done that, even with the fact that I knew Liam was back at home. It was not just him that was all that I had left in this world, but I was sure that he felt a bit of the same way to me as well.
He had just lost Lilly... Hell... Not just that, but he was the one that had to end her... He had no other choice though, as I felt so bad, and I felt a bit sick for him as well. I could tell that he had lost a big part of his soul, after what it was that he had to do in the guest bed room of Lilly's home.
I remember sleeping in that room several times... I would never do that again... She was gone, and that house was going to be empty. Not just that as well, but there was going to be quite a lot of empty houses, when all was said and done in the end of all of this.
I was sure that there was still some people alive, at least the people that had been out of the walls. Chester had made it some how, and he had managed to be in the community when it had all gone down. It meant that a lot of other people surely had to be alive... It was not all over... We still had a chance...
I just had to be cautious with every step that I took, and I had to make sure that we did not have any screw ups... But what about the group of people that had in fact attacked us? Surely they would come back to make sure that the job was finished right? I shivered, as I knew that I was thinking way too ahead at the moment.
I just had to make sure that I could get as many people safe as possible. I was not sure how possible that was going to be now how ever. Not only would the gun shots pull all of the dead over to the community home, but they would also pull all of the dead that were out side of the walls, over to the community.
I shook my head once again, as I knew I was getting far too ahead of my self, as I saw at the same time as well, that Christian was still staring at me, with his eyes squinted. I blinked a few times, as I was a bit lost, and I felt like I might have missed some thing that had been important.
I remembered all that had just happened at the same time though, as I remembered that I was seconds away from ending my life. Christian had saved me from that, as I had been doing some thing that I had not even thought about. I was grateful for Christian for it as well, as I then turned my head over to him.
He still did not look all that sure, as I felt his hand held on to mine, to make sure that I did not shoot my self with the gun. I did not blame him, as I still had a bit of a blank look on my face, which I could not help at the current moment. I was doing my best to hide all of my emotions.
It was all so scary, and I hated the feeling of fear. It was worse than the feeling of pain, at least that was how it felt at times. I blinked a few times, as I realized that I needed to make sure that Christian knew that I was alright now, as I then began to speak to him, after just a couple more moments of some silence.
"I am sorry... I just... You are right... It is all just so much..." I said to him after a little while longer. Christian looked at me for just a few more seconds, as he still had his eyes squinted at me, and his hand held hard on to mine, to make sure that I did not move the gun any where around me.
He stayed like that for just a few more seconds, as he suddenly then let go, as he then nodded to me at the exact same time as well. I blinked a few times, as he then nodded to me too. It was clear that he felt a bit more safe now, after what it was that I had just said to him.
I was not sure if I felt too safe my self at this point, as I was not so sure as to what it was the was going on with me in fact. I shook my head, as I did my best to shake off all of those thoughts all at once how ever. We stood there for a bit of time, as the silence continued to loom upon us.
I stared at the ground, as I was not sure what to do, or what to even think on at the current moment. Some thing just did not feel right, as I was not sure as to what it could be. I knew that I had just had thoughts of suicide, but at the same time too, that was not where my head space was at, as to why some thing felt a little off.
What was it? I looked over at Christian, as I could tell that he was thinking the same thing as I was, as it was clear that he could not tell as to what it was that was going on, that kind of freaked the both of us out. I looked around, as I tried to see as to what it was, that could be so off in the air.
I looked over at the streets, as I expected to see the dead all across it, such as they had been the last few days, but to my surprise, that was just not the case at all. I blinked a few times, as I was not sure as to why, or how they could have all just disappeared on me, like they had never been here in the first place.
The days that the storm had happened before, it had taken weeks and up to months to get all of the dead from out of the community. How could they all of the sudden just disappeared right in front of my very own eyes? I felt like I was almost going a little bit crazy, as shivers begin to go down my spine.
I then realized as to what it was, and why there were not all that many of the dead at the moment. It had been like this all day long as well. It was the gun shots, that were coming from the community home, which was no less than half a mile away from us, at the current moment in time.
The gun shots were the reason as to why the dead had all gone away from the streets that were around us. I stared for a bit of time at the streets as well, as for some reason, that still did not feel like the air seemed to be a bit strange to me right now. I blinked a few times, as I continued to think on it for just a little bit longer.
The air around me, seemed to bit a bit strange, and awfully silent at the moment. I stared for a bit longer, as it suddenly then hit me, as to what it was that made things feel so strange. The dead were not on the streets any longer, as it was due to the fact that they were so distracted by the gun shots.
Now the air was silent... There were no more gun shots, but at the same time too, there were also no more moans and groans of the dead too. I was sure that had to be as to the fact that they had got a fair distance away from us, as we had been sitting in this spot for nearly an hour at this point.
It was getting dark out now, and I knew that we had to get inside at some point soon, as I knew that the dead were stronger, and they were also faster at night as well. I was worried as to the fact that Liam might get worried about me, and go out looking for me at the same time too.
He was a smart kid, and there was no denying that at all, but at the same time too, I also knew, that he, just like the rest of us, could some times make very dumb decisions. I just hade to hope that Chester made sure he stayed inside, and made sure that he was safe in there as well.
That place seemed to be a lot safer than where we were at, at the exact moment how ever. I blinked a few times, as I then shook off all of those thoughts at the same as well. I remembered as to the fact that there were gun shots, but at the same time too, those gun shots were no longer shooting.
I looked at Christian for a few moments as well, as I could tell that he realized the same thing as well. I looked at him for a little bit of some time, as I then nodded for him, to go ahead and say what it was that he was thinking. He looked at me for a few more seconds, before he then finally nodded right back over to me, and then he began to speak to me as well, as I listened as to what it was that he had to say to me too.
"The shots have stopped... I am going to peek my head around the corner and see as to why..." He said to me. I looked at him for a few moments, as I then nodded to him at the same time as well. He let out a bit of a loud sigh, as he then continued to speak to me. "I will tell you if it safe to go forward... You just be ready... I don't know what I am about to look at..."
I looked at him for a few moments, as I was almost tempted to offer to do it my self, as I wanted to see what was going on my self first. I did not do so how ever, as I had to control my self, and I had to realize that he was the one that was training me on all of this, and not the other way around.
Odds are as well, I might have my head poked out for just a little bit too long. I knew that he knew to make the better decision more than I did, as I watched as he got up from where it was that we were sitting on the ground for over an hour, on the edge of a wall, that was on a house.
He then began to slowly walk forward, with every step of the way dead silent like he had always told of me to make sure I did. It seemed like he was always did that, even when we were not around the dead, or out side of the walls, as if it was some sort of second nature for him at this point.
I shook my head though, as he seemed to be going slower than usual as well, as if he was worried that they some how might be able to see him, and shoot him through the house. I rolled my eyes, as I felt like we were wasting a fair amount of time as well, as I saw that it was getting darker and darker as each moment passed.
I stared at him for just a little while longer, as he suddenly then stopped, just before he got to the corner of the house. I was a bit confused as to what it was that he was doing, as he then suddenly poked his head out it just the slightest, to see what was around the corner for us.
I looked at him, as I almost thought that at any moment, he was going to fall to the ground, as I heard a very loud gun shot from not too far away from me. Fortunately enough for me, that was not the case at all, as Christian had his head out for just a few seconds, until he then pulled his head back.
He then put his arms to the wall around him, almost as if he was trying to hide him self from some thing, or some one rather. I tilted my head, as I was a bit confused on what it was that was going on with him at the current moment in time as well.
He seemed to be stuck in place, as I could see a look of utter shock on his face for some odd reason or another. I was so lost as to what was going on at the moment, as I was almost tempted to go and see as to what it was that he was looking at, but I made the smart decision, and I held my self in from doing so.
I stared at him for a little while longer, as I let out a bit of a scared sigh, as I could not judge the look on his face, as to what it was that he might see out there. After a bit more time had passed, as Christian had seemed to stare in to nothing around us, he finally in fact turned his head over to me.
I still had my head tilted a bit, as I was a bit confused as to what was going on. He tilted his head a bit, as if I was the one that was being a little bit suspicious at the moment. After a little bit more time had passed how ever, he finally nodded to me, rather than speaking of me like he had said he was going to do, for me to follow him.
I blinked a few times, as I still was not sure if it were a good idea, nor was I sure if I wanted to see a bunch of the dead ahead of me again. I shook off all of those thoughts, as I knew that I could not be a pussy either, as I then began to walk over to him, as I nodded back over to him at the same time too.
He suddenly did some thing that kind of scared me for his own life, and surprised me at the same time too, as for some reason he poked him self right in to the open, and he began to head right over to the street that we had been going down for the last couple of days.
I stopped my self for just a half of a second, as I was not sure if I was ready to follow him that much out in to the open, after the fact that we had just got shot at. I stared for just a bit of some time how ever, as I did not hear a gun shot fly past him at all, telling me that it was safe to go through.
I had to assume that the dead must have gotten to the people that were shooting to get their attention obviously. That would me the idea that came to my mind, but at the same time as well, I would have thought that Christian would have thought the same thing as I did.
Based off of the look of utter shock on his face, I had to assume that it could not be the case at all how ever. I blinked a few times, as I dipped my head a bit low to the ground, as I got out in the open, as if I was worried that I was going to get shot at right away.
I was glad that Christian did not have his eyes on me at the moment thankfully, as I was sure I looked like a bit of a fool. I gulped a bit at the same time too, as I shook off all of those thoughts, and then I looked around of me, to see as to what it was that seemed to be so much of a shock to him.
I stared for a few moments, as I was not sure what was going on, or what it was that I was even looking at, as I stood for a bit of some time, as my mind, and my body seemed to go blank. I looked ahead of me, as it seemed like all of the dead had just suddenly, and magically began to stop, all that time that we had been behind the house.
There were so many dead bodies of them laying in front of me, as it looked like they were all taken down some how. I stared for a bit longer, as I was not sure as to how to take all of it in. It now made sense to me, as to why Christian had such a look of shock on his face before now.
The bodies seemed to go for miles on out as well. Some how, it looked like some one had just bombed the group of the dead, even though I knew that we had not heard the noise of a bomb. I blinked a few times, as I could see some moving around still, but they could not lift them selves up.
I looked at them for a bit of some time, at the same time as well, as I saw that there were other things moving around in front of me. I instantly pulled my pistol out, as I was ready to shoot at them, if ant of them dared to get any where close to me.
I then blinked a few times, as I realized that the things that were moving around, were not in fact the dead at all. They were instead people, that were clearly living as well, as they were walking up to some odd the dead with their knives, as they were finishing them off.
I stood there for a bit longer, as at this point, Christian had gotten a fair bit ahead of me. I was a bit lost as to how he had seen all of that in just a couple of seconds, but that was the least of the worries that were on my mind. I was more confused on how the fact they had managed to kill this many of the dead.
Not to mention the fact that these were people that I noticed, and remembered their faces too. There were maybe 20 to 30 of them all over the place, finishing off the dead that were in the streets. They seemed to not notice me or Christian at all, or they just did not seem to care.
I shook my head, as I continued to follow Christian, all the way up to where we got the back of all of the dead that were ahead of us. I had my head a bit low to the ground as well, as I was a bit worried that one of the dead my poke its head out, and snap at me.
I failed to realize that Christian had stopped walking for some reason, as I nearly crashed in to him. I lifted my head up, as I was a bit confused on what was going on, as I heard Christian begin to speak to some one other than me. I blinked a few times, as I then listened to what it was that he had to say as well.
"Would you mind explaining to me what just happened?"
