Road to Death

Chapter 4

I landed with a THUD! Ouch, I could already feel bruises starting to form. There seemed to be a lush, fuzzy red carpet underneath me. My eyes cleared and I saw a very large room that was adorned with jewels and black and silver. Fancy. Was I in a throne room? 

I sat up and heard several gasps. At the front of the room, there was a marvelous, raven haired beauty that looked about the same age as me. She was decorated in more silver, and purple gems, and the black dress she wore was as black as midnight and sparkled like stars as she took a few steps towards me. 

I raised my eyes to meet hers and noticed her plump cherry-red lips. Then I noticed her eyes. I felt like I had seen them a million times before and wanted to lose myself in the deep purple colour that was like twilight. I stood up and the right thing to do I suppose, was to bow, because she seemed to be the queen. My clothes seemed to have been changed to appropriate throne room attire. I noticed I was wearing a beautiful armored corset that was on top of a dress that shimmered like liquid moonlight. The beautiful woman broke into a run towards me and was crying at the same time. When she finally reached me, she threw her arms around me and started sobbing my name. I awkwardly encircled my arms around her and said,

"Hi? I'm Niamh, but you seem to already know my name, and the way you say it, I suppose we were very close a couple hundred years ago, I guess. Where are we? This place is kinda lit. And why am I wearing really cool clothes? I feel like I'm ready for battle and, ooh, there's a dagger strapped around my thigh, I'm totally in a fairy tale. Wait, is this the fae realm? How did I get her- Awesome! I'm wearing combat boots. Why are there 2 thrones? Are you married? You are super hot and really pretty, so that would suck if you were married. I feel something on my head, I think it's kind of like the thing on your head, but I have a feeling it'll be silvery because that seems to be the theme of my clothes. Were these made from moonlight or-" the pretty lady gasped a laugh.

"Oh Niamh, you're still the same. Yes, we were definitely... close a hundred years ago. Yes, we are in the fae realm, these are the same kind of clothes you always wear, I guess they were the last clothes you were wearing when you left here. Yes there are two thrones, and I am married. Of course your clothes were made from moonlight, mine were made of starlight and midnight. I appreciate the fact that you find me hot, that hasn't changed either. I'm so glad to see you, how did you get here? Oh, and by the way, my name's-"

"Iara. Right?" She nodded her head yes. I questioned her, "Wait, if you're Iara, then we're mates. What does that even mean? The creepy pervert immortal man told me about this kind of when he sicked a gruli on me and tried to kidnap me. Who are you married to-"

Iara's voice became dangerously low. "He did what? Anton hasn't reported this yet-"

There was a flash of light. "At your service milady" Anton. He was here. I waved to him. He waved back. Iara pulled back from our hug and I pulled her back again. She made a soft oh! Sound and I buried my face into her hair. It smelled really good. Like, fresh outdoors and nighttime. I let go and apologized, 

"Sorry, that felt normal and like the right thing to do. Who's the other throne for again?"

"You don't have to apologize, I'm used to you doing that. Well, the other throne i-is yours. We're married. The ring on the chain around your neck is our wedding ring. We are mates, I guess Basil told you that right." I was stunned.

"You're telling me I'm married and I didn't know it? How did you know it was Basil I was talking about?"

"You always used to call him creepy pervert man, I guess when you figured out he was fae you added 'immortal' to it. And yes we are married, and you definitely need to train now that you're here. I'm sure you'll become even more of a badass. We'll try to help you remember, I'll lift the glamour, but it will take probably about a year to get all of your memories back."
