Harry
We really take advantage of how easily things change. How quickly things change course, or how swiftly it happens right at your palms.
Whether the advantage is greater than or worse than.
That's exactly how I felt. I went from being completely independent and hating her to attempting to fulfill a sacred prophecy that could save me. I guess I did follow her but only because she had what I needed, who knew she would lead me to and what I didn't know I even needed. I also still haven't figured out why I decided not to kill her in her sleep and take what I needed.
Some things aren't meant to be answered I guess.
That morning I woke up first, no surprise there. I got all our stuff together. I hauled my bags and shoved all my clothes and sanitary things back into my bag. I had messily shoved all my things together, ready to leave. I felt ready for the day, as I was about to wake her up from her deep slumber. My eyes caught the scattered mess of her clothes and the things she had kept here as her "camp". I sighed to myself before turning my course towards the littered path.
I shovelled her stuff and hauled it in my arms, I searched for her bag before I saw it leaning against the wall next to the waterfall. I buckled it open and was ready to shove it all down and get rid of it. But I noticed she had all of her things neatly stacked and organized. I rubbed my temples thinking of the fit she will throw if I messed it all up.
I sighed once more before organizing everything in piles. Clothes, sanitary items, food and other things in groups. I neatly folded her clothes and placed them at the bottom of her bag. I zipped her sanitary items in the small bag she stored inside her other bag. Then the food in her second bag. I stood up from my hunched-over position and clapped my hands together. I buckled her bag up and pulled it over my shoulders before gently placing it next to mine.
As I walked back over to her, my eyes were blinded by the sunlight that poured in over the tall rock walls. Shadows filled the area and light cascaded over her small frame. I heard a small grunt before I heard movement, she rubbed her eyes and slowly opening before squinting them shut.
"What the-" her small hoarse voice beckoned. I slowly stepped forward and covered the sunlight with my frame. She hastily looked up at me and her green eyes pierced my soul. I hated to admit that she looked good even in the mornings. Her bags were visible due to endless sleepless nights I presume. But her tired eyes and swollen lips made it all that much better. As she stretched her arms out her messy air embellished down her shoulders.
"Morning, Princess," she quickly pulled the small blanket up to her chest and panicked before realizing it was just me. I wondered why she got so flustered at the name but I ignored it.
"Come to kill me? Why are you already up," she said as she stretched before standing up. She reached my shoulder height, making me still have to look down at her as I towered over.
"We have a long journey ahead, I'm only helping us get ready, so get dressed," I said before I turned around she flipped me off and crawled back into her makeshift bed. She feathered her eyes closed, she looked so comfortable and peaceful. A sliver of me wanted to join her but I decided to stick to my plan. I leaned down over her before I gripped her wrists and hauled her up to her feet. "Now." I said through closed teeth.
She huffs and pulls her wrists away before dragging her feet towards her bag. She pauses before unclipping it and peering inside. She turns her head back towards me.
"Why did you fold my clothes?" she said and I could feel the heat radiating off my cheeks as they flustered a tint of red. I kicked my feet around before responding.
