I arrived at the hospital right when Nicky did. Some people who I'm assuming are doctors and nurses took him into an operating room I tried to go with them but they told me to wait. After a few minutes of pacing back and forth, Maria came and directed me to a room where I can watch the doctors operate on Nick.

I'm now looking through a glass window watching them operate on Nick. I heard the door to the room open but I didn't bother to turn around to see who came in even when the person came and stood next to me. Not even five minutes later the door opened again and once again I didn't bother to turn around to see who came in until the person stood to the other side of me and spoke.

"Is he gonna make it?" a raspy voice asks making me turn my head slightly. I look at the short red-head for a second before turning my attention back on Nick.

"We don't know," Steve says softly.

"Tell me about the shooter," Nat says.

"He's fast. Strong," Steve answers making me roll my eyes at the lack of information.

"Brown chin-length hair, approximately 6ft, got the body build of Steve, vibrant blue eyes, had a stupid metal arm," I say gripping the metal edge of the window. Out of the corner of my eye, I see the two look at me a bit surprised but I dismiss their looks just as Agent Hill joins us by the window.

"Ballistics?" Nat asks Hill.

"Three slugs, no rifling. Completely untraceable," Hill says with a sigh.

"Soviet-made," Nat says.

"Yeah," Hill says in a slightly surprised tone. Suddenly Fury's state worsens and he goes into V-tach.

"He's in V-tach," a nurse calls out.

"Crash cart coming in," another nurse informs.

"Nurse, help me with the drape," the doctor orders.

"BP is dropping," a nurse calls out causing the other nurses and doctor to work quickly.

"Defibrillator!" the doctor says.

"Don't do this to me, Nick," Nat mumbles.

"Nick I swear if you die!" I whisper-yell as I watch intently. The doctor shocks Fury with the defibrillator and asks for a pulse but unfortunately, there wasn't one.

"Ok. 200, please. Stand back! Three, two, one. Clear!" the doctor says giving Fury another shock. The doctor asks for a pulse but there wasn't one and Nick proceeds to flatline.

"Don't do this to me, Nick. Don't do this to me," Nat mumbles as we all watch the doctor and nurses try and revive Nick. I grip the edge of the window tightly making my knuckles turn white.

"What's the time?" the doctor asks.

"1:03, Doctor," the nurse says.

"Time of death, 1:03 a.m." the doctor calls making me look away with my jaw clenched. I walk away ripping some metal off the window.

I take a deep breath and blink my eyes rapidly trying to prevent the tears in my eyes from falling. I look back at the window after a second and see that Natasha is the only one standing there. I take the flash drive that Nick gave me out of my pocket and look down at it.

-----

Nat, Steve, and I are now in a room where Nick's dead body has been laid out. Steve is leaning on the wall next to the door and I'm right next to Nat who's looking down at Nick's body with tears running down her face.

"I need to take him," I hear Hill say from behind me making me look that way just as Steve exits the room. I turn back to Nat and speak.

"Red," I call out softly. She doesn't respond she just touches Fury's body and leaves the room making me follow after her. We pass Steve who's giving me a confused look but I ignore him and continue to follow Nat.
