Lena is working on designing the perfect ring for you and you have no idea. She has been acting extra lovey towards you and protective of her phone lately because she doesn't want you to see the ring design. She has messaged some of your closest friends asking them for advice on what to add to make it perfect. You and Lena just finished dinner and she is doing the dishes. You are sitting at the island and hear her phone buzz next to you. You start to pick it up to show her the message. Her eyes widen and she drops the sponge and plate almost breaking it. She doesn't even dry her hands, but snatches the phone from your hand and swipes away the notification.

Y/n: What's that about? (In a calm genuinely curious tone knowing that it couldn't be anything bad)

She pauses trying to think of a response.

Lena: Oh, I've been expecting an important message from a sponsor and I need to respond right away or someone else may get the deal. I should probably call them now.

You are suspicious but have a lot of trust in Lena, so you brush it off.

Y/n: Okay, well let me know how it goes!

Lena: Will do!

She walks away leaving the dishes not done. You finish them and go out to your backyard with the cats and sit to watch the sunset.

Lena's POV: Phew. That was too close, I need to be more careful. She could have seen the message about the ring. I hope she doesn't get suspicious. I'd never need to hide anything that could hurt her.

Lena walks outside and sits down with you. You two have a nice conversation and share a kiss. You stay up long enough for the stars to come out. Lena spots a shooting star and you both make a wish.
Completely forgetting about the message, you fall asleep in Lena's warm, welcoming arms. She kisses your forehead and snuggles up to you, falling asleep shortly after you.

You wake up the next morning to birds chirping and Lena sitting next to you with a cup of coffee in her hand and one next to you on the side table. You grin. "She's so thoughtful", you think to yourself.

You wrap your arms around her from behind and put your cheek against hers. She turns her head and gives you a kiss.

Lena: How'd you sleep, babe?

Y/n: Amazing.

Lena hands you the second cup of coffee.

Lena: Here you go. I made it the way you love it.

Y/n: Thank you, I love you so much.

Lena: Love you more.

The day goes on and you can't help but think about Lena's panic when you picked her phone up yesterday. So you ask her about the brand deal she mentioned.

Y/n: Hey, babe, so did you get that brand deal?

Lena: Uh, unfortunately no.

Y/n: Aw, I'm sorry. What was the brand anyway?

Lena: Another clothing brand. They already got someone, so maybe another time.

Y/n: Phew, good to know

Lena: (Concerned) Why do you sound so worried?

Y/n: Well, it was a little weird when you didn't want me to look at your phone.

Lena's POV: Damn, this is exactly what I didn't want to happen.

Lena: Aw, love. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to make you worry. I don't have anything to hide.

You two hug and binge one of your favorite shows. Lena of course lied about having nothing to hide. But it's for a good reason. She is taking every chance she has to make the ring perfect without spoiling the surprise.
