I jerk up at the sound of my alarm clock.
I laugh as Giavanna rolls of,
"Careful!" I laugh harder, she lifts up and eyes me harshly.
I change into sweatpants, and i toss my hair into a bun as I walk downstairs and grab a non- toasted pop-tart from the pantry around the corner of the kitchen, Giavanna follows me grabbing a waffle, she breaks it apart as she stuffs it into her mouth.
I laugh at her as she stairs out the door,
"Thirsty?" I lift my eyebrow after questioning her.
She nods, "orange juice." she adds while moaning.
I grab a cup and poor orange
juice into it, and I slide it across the counter to her.
I moan and jog upstairs to get a quick shower, I could possibly get the job today.
I quickly shave, after doing everything else that I needed to do. I turn off the water and wrap myself in a robe and my hair is wrapped into the towel.
I pull my hair into a pony tail, and I put on regular clothes, I'll change into my uniform there if i get the job.
I put on my makeup quickly and walk out to find Giavanna already dressed and ready. It makes me laugh, she still manages to look gorgeous.
I pull out of the driveway and begin to drive to Target.
I turn to her, but barely to ask her a question,
"So you and Camden work here together?" I ask.
She nods, but opens her mouth to add "and andrew."
I grin at that, and of course she notices.
"YOU LIKE HIM!" She screams in my ear, I think I'm deaf.
"You're funny.." I nervously say.
She shakes her head, "I suspected something but this just cleared it, ahh!" She doesn't hide her smile at all.
"Whatever you say," I laugh and pull into Target.
After parking I turn to her,
"What does it matter he has a girlfriend, I have no time for boys anyways Giavanna. You know that." I speak, as serious as I can.
I pull the keys out of the ignition and shut the car door behind me as I step out.
We both begin walking into the store, which seems larger than last time, ugh.
She squeezes my arm for a hope of goodluck and purses her lips, I head toward the office while she heads to one of the cashier stands.
I knock on the door before entering, I hear a sigh and a monotone voice say "come in."
I gently move the door open and smile
"Hello, I'm Bree Green." I say slowly.
She opens her eyes wider, relax's her shoulders, and smiles.
It's like after hearing my name the coffee she has been drinking just kicked in, it's almost scary.
She stands up, stretching a hand out to mine, I release mine and shake her hand.
"Hello Bree," she smiles, "it's great to finally meet you."
I nod, "you too."
She smiles and quickly adds, "there isn't much talking involved, considering your application quickly gave me my decision." She drops her smile.
"I'm sorry to say," she pauses, crap. "I would love if you could start right away."
This time I act like the one who just had coffee and it kicked in. I release my breath not realizing I was holding it and I nod smiling.
She hands me my uniform and shakes my hands again.
I head to the bathroom to change into my red t-shirt with a name tag stating my name and I change into a light brown pair of khakis.
I head to a cashier right next to Giavanna who smiles and puts in a quick
"I think you make this look better than I do." She laughs quickly then attends to her customer.
I watch as a older guy probably in his early 30's approaches me.
I smile brightly "Hello, paper or plastic?"
He smiles back, pulling out his wallet, "plastic is fine."
I begin putting is bags of chips, cleaning supplies, baby bottle, a baby blanket, a few baby clothes for a boy, and a stroller.
"Expecting a kid?" I raise an eyebrow.
He puffs a laugh, "yes, very nervous."
I finish putting his things into bags, "congratulations. and goodluck." I smile and look at him, he has desperate bags under his eyes begging for sleep, poor guy.
I smile, "that will be $84.50, plus tax is already added." I pause to add, "do you have a coupon or a gift card?" He shakes his head, and hands me his credit card. I quickly swipe and point for him to sign the scanner. He signs and folds his lips into a straight line, I print out his recite and add "recite in the bag or would you like to take it?" He points to the bag and I drop it in there, "thank you for coming to Target. Please come again, and congratulations on your new child I hope all goes well."
He thanks me and waves me a goodbye.
The rest of the day goes by quickly, until Andrew walks by me squinting, "Bree?" He asks me confused.
I nod, "Hey," I wave.
He smiles, his teeth shine so bright I believe I'm blind.
He waves as well, "glad I get to see my best friend at work too." He smiles again.
I lift my eyebrows at that. Did he just say I was his best friend? AHH!
I laugh and play it off cool, " best friend?"
He smirks, " Yes."
I turn, "so what do you do?"
He jerks up, "the lifting and carrying.. and some technology stuff with Camden too." I nod looking at how perfect he even looks in his uniform, I swear if I'm drooling...
I get cut off from my thinking as I turn around seeing Giavanna leaning over the counter kissing Camden, they mumble that they love each other quickly. I laugh and wave Andrew off and he quickly winks at me waving as Camden drags him away.
I finally end my shift, Giavanna leaves with Camden so I'm on my own.
I pull into a drive through at 'Lions Choice' and I grab a turkey sandwich with fries and a coke.
I pull into my driveway, and take my food out along with my purse and I run inside.
I don't have work tomorrow, considering I work every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. I walk in and throw my stuff in the laundry and change into sweatpants, a tank top, and a braid going down my back.
I eat my food quickly, going onto the news. My old house burnt down by an accidental candle, it's my dad. It has to be. I turn off my t.v., along with my light and close my eyes. I'm so worn out.
--------------------- ----- ----------------------------
My phone begins to buzz, what the?
I answer, my tired voice clearly showing
"Hello?" I yawn, scratching my head.
"Hey Bree, I'm sorry to wake you."
I shake my head. It's Andrew.
I wake up like a spark plug "oh no it's fine, what's up?" I hold in a groan.
"My parents are fighting, I didn't know who else to call. It's getting serious, and I don't know what to do. They forced me to go to my room."
I bite my lip, "just try to go to sleep. and if you can't I'll stay up with you all night." I say, laying down on my bed.
I think I hear him smile through the phone, I do the same.
