I could hear some people talking near me. Their voices were muffled however I could still make out the deep voice of a male. I paid close attention to this muffled voice, and soon the voice became more clearer. All of a sudden, I heard a familiar high pitch voice, belonging to a women.
"What's wrong with her? What did that man do to my precious baby girl!" she screamed. It was my Mum.
My heart started racing with excitement.
"Hang on a second Mrs May," the male voice said.
I didn't recognise this voice at all. After a moment of silence, I began to hear a new sound. This noise was a slow, beeping sound.
"Carly's heart rate has spiked up. We might need to keep a close eye on her," the man explained.
"What happened to her doc, we need to know. I need to know what happened to her! We have been worried sick about her for two weeks!" Mum cried.
"I don't know personally what happened to her, however medically speaking, I do know what is the issue with her. She was stabbed in her small intestine, she was cut over her anterior jugular vein, she appears to have fractured her nose and the skin over her frontal bone was cut. Her left wrist also appears to have been fractured. She has also received many bruises, wounds and muscle fractures. She appears to have not received the required amount of food or water over the past two weeks that you say she has been not in your care. We haven't yet gotten to any bone related or brain injuries. After she wakes up we would like to run some tests to find out if she has any more issues, preferably an MRI and a CT scan. I'm terribly sorry Mr and Mrs May," the doctor explained.
My Mum began to sob and I then heard my Dad's stuttering sigh.
Every part of me ached. I felt so sick and so tired. Despite feeling this tiredness, I opened my eyes, I wanted to see my parents so bad. It took a lot of energy to do so, but seeing the look on my parents faces made it all worth it. My Mum gasped and rushed over to me. "Oh my sweet baby, I'm so sorry," she sobbed.
I grunted in pain as she touched my bruised face.
"Oh sorry sweetheart. How are you feeling?" she asked with tears streaming down her face.
I opened my mouth to speak, but suddenly I felt super sick in my stomach. The beeping on the heart rate monitor spiked up as my eyes began to close. I started coughing and choking on some blood. I then let out a huge cough, followed by vomit. Blood poured down my mouth and onto my chest.
"Page Dr Charles, we need to put Carly under general anaesthetic for a CT scan."
"Why a CT scan? Give her surgery!"
"Not until we find out what's wrong with her. We need a CT scan to find the issue of her internal bleeding."
My vision went blurry again and I felt a wave of tiredness overcome me. Soon I closed my eyes, as the final cough of blood came up.It was all the same as last time. I heard people talking again, but this time I could hear perfectly clear. I listened to my parents whispering to one another beside my bed. I opened my eyes and blinked a few times to gain my sight properly.
"Hey Carly, are you feeling any better?" my Mum whispered and asked.
I groaned and shook my head. I was so sick and I was in so much pain, only this pain was not as bad as it was earlier.
"Honey everything is gonna be okay, we're here now," my Dad said reassuringly.
I smiled and then coughed a little bit. My parents sat up straight in alert.
"I'm fine," I mumbled.
My Mum still sat up straight to make sure I wasn't going to have another episode.
"What happened to you Carly?" my Dad asked.
"Ryan!" my Mum shouted while she slapped him.
"I'm sorry Melissa but I want to know. Our daughter has been missing for two weeks and when we finally see her again, she's in hospital and apparently with some gang of murderers!"
"Ryan we talked about this!" my Mum yelled.
"It's okay Mum," I whispered.
They both looked at me with concern. I opened my mouth and began to stutter.
"I was kidnapped," I cried.
My Mum nodded her head and a tear ran down her cheek. I went to carry on, but suddenly all the memories of my time in the basement came back. It was truly a traumatic experience for me. I'm not sure if I am ready to tell everyone everything that had happened. I began to cry and my parents came over to hug me.
"You can tell us whenever you're ready," my Mum cried.
What if I didn't want to tell them at all? There was nothing special about what happened anyways. Actually, there was one special thing about this whole experience, Trent. That's when it hit me that he was not here with me right now, for the first time in days.
"Where's, where's Trent?" I asked.
My parents looked at one another.
"Who's Trent?" my parents asked in unison.
My eyes filled with tears. Was Trent okay? He wouldn't have anyone with him, he would be all alone.
"Honey what's wrong, who's Trent?" my Mum asked.
She put her hand on mine and stared into my teary eyes. I couldn't answer her. I broke out into a cry and both my parents came to hug me again. My Mum gave my Dad a confused look, and then returned her kind gaze back to me. Suddenly, two doctor's ran into my room. My parents turned around to greet them.
"Sorry Mr and Mrs May, Carly needs to go into surgery right now." My parents looked at one another with fear.
"Why is she okay?"
"No she isn't. Her scans came back from the CT and MRI. She is bleeding internally and if we don't do the surgery now she will choke again and die."
My Mum put her hands to her mouth and began to cry. I cried as well, just as the doctor's all rushed over me.
"No no no, I need to see Trent," I cried as they pumped anaesthetic into my IV.
I continued to cry, and then the same wave of tiredness overcame me. I then closed my wet eyes and stopped crying.
