"Oh my god you will never believe what happened to Brett today in class! Ok so..."
Bethany's voice trailed off into the distance as I kept thinking about last session. The man in the black Mazda remained a constant thought in my head. I just couldn't stop thinking about how they way that he looked at me, especially as he drove away and looked me up and down.
I kept walking and nodding to whatever Bethany was saying. I then realised that I could no longer hear Bethany's voice. I looked over my shoulder in alarm. Bethany was standing a few metres behind me, staring at me with agitation. "Are you good?"
I smiled at her and walked back down the path towards her.
"Sorry, something happened last session and I can't get it off my mind."
"Ok, well then tell me."
"I don't know it's just, there was this man in a car who was just looking at me, all session all he did was just look at me!"
"Are you sure he was looking at you?"
"Well he couldn't seem to stop drooling at me, so yeh I think so!"
Bethany looked at me anxiously and tilted her head.
"It's probably just nothing, he's probably just some old creep anyways," she answered casually.
Hopefully she was right again.
"Anyways, so as I was saying before you ghosted me, Brett stood up to hand Miss Summers his history revision sheet and he tripped on the leg of a chair and cut his head open on the edge of a table! I know it's bad, but the class went wild when he dropped to the floor unconscious!"
I looked at her with my mouth open.
"Served him right, maybe this was the universe getting revenge on him for me," I laughed.A few weeks ago, when school started for term 2, a guy in my personal training elective started talking to me and I really liked him! We would laugh all the time and we often get into trouble for laughing to much, he was the most decent and kind hearted guy I had ever been friends with, I began to think that I had a crush on him. That was until one day in our class, when he was suddenly really shy around me, and wouldn't talk to me for half of the class.
He then started acting weird, and began asking me weird questions that made no sense. Then as we were leaving class, he grabbed my hand and leaned into me. He then confessed to me that he thought I was hot, and that 'a girl like me deserves a strong, supportive person like him'. I was to scared to confess how I felt for him, so I told him that I didn't feel the same way. Then a group of his friends started giggling from behind him. I asked him what was going on, but he stared at me with a dull expression. His friends started yelling at him, telling him to to kiss me. Brett then put a hand on my waist and leant in to kiss me, and then with no second thought, I slapped his face. I was so mad! Brett was so nice and he was the one guy friend I had. Now, he was nothing more than a stupid, ignorant person who I highly doubt trying to make a friendship with in the first place."Come on Carly, regardless of what he did to you, can't you find it in your heart somewhere to forgive him? He's so nice to me and he's so funny!"
"Hate to burst your bubble Bethany, but I thought so to. See that's the thing, I'm never going to find the right guy. I'll never know what it feels like for someone to love me," I sighed.
Bethany pouted her lips and laughed at me. I rolled my eyes at her as she continued to laugh.
"You will find someone some day Carly! Just wait, he is out there somewhere!"
I rolled my eyes and dropped my shoulders.
I was going to be miserable forever."Ok, no that's fine Mum, I'll just walk home with Bethany, ok bye." Mum got caught up at work and couldn't pick me up from school, so Bethany and I had to walk home, which took half an hour. Well, for Bethany it only took 20 minutes, because she lives closer to the school than I do. "Ok well let's get a start then," Bethany sighed.
She hated walking home, but I could tell she was trying her best to compose her disappointment, she knew how hard my Mum worked.Mum was a real estate agent and was constantly going from house to house to market or sell them. She only just makes it home in time to pick me up from school, and on some nights she only just made it home to take Mason to basketball training. I know that she knows that I appreciate all she does for me and our family.
Bethany and I had already walked 10 minutes, and were just turning onto Ling Shore street.
"So is everything okay with your Mum? Why couldn't she make it?"
"She told me she had some client who was arguing on an 'unfair house auction'. How is your Dad going with his doctor stuff?"
"Oh you know the usual. Well not the usual actually, he is now coming home every night at 11 which is good. My Mum missies him a lot and half the time we really need his help at home, it's hard for my Mum to manage my sisters needs, my needs and her job as well."
