"It all started with envy... greed, even. But for now, allow us to focus on the envy as that was the key to the past."

It hadn't happened long ago. In fact, it happened relatively close to their timeline. The only that changed were the rules and souls that roamed the earth. And in the past, only privileged souls such as rulers of the kingdom and villagers roamed the lands. At the time, almost everybody was richer than some today and even the villagers took part in the riches and rags.

There were festivals, ceremonies, celebration, but mostly on special occasions as every other day would be a normal one. The villagers would work the stands and such, the rulers and citizens would prepare for the day, and deep inside the forest, would be little children, picking only the ripest and juiciest of berries.

Unfortunately for the children, they wouldn't know what were to come next as if they were ever to roam just a little deeper into the dark woods they would potentially be taken away and at some times, cursed. But only based on how innocent they seemed and how easily they were able to be manipulated. They only seek for the (partially) broken ones as those were the easiest to be taught in the dark ways and deceive all their relatives.

Eunji, was indifferent from the rest and once when she was out to pick berries for her and her mother to consume, she had been cursed with darkness that would soon overtake her once her emotions would get out of hand and she'd lose control of it all. Emotions were most definitely the key to the dark spirits' ability to overtake the rather promising land that they wanted to take back.

"It's was and still is a long story to tell as most of the details would soon be blurred once we get to the Great War..."

Darkness spread quickly throughout, after having been banished to the forests by the previous ruler of the land, they were seekers of revenge and vowed to never stop until they took back what was supposed to be theirs. And so they got to work, surrounding villages of all kinds and manipulating the ones who were vulnerable to believing blatant lies as well as being one to socialize as rumors would begin to spread quickly from villagers to villagers.

They were no brains but they were certainly smart enough and encouraged enough to do this to every village, until their one victim would take their own lives after the destruction of their villages. Regardless if it were to be new or not. They didn't care as all they felt powerful whilst doing this, soon drawing attention from the kingdom, which they had also started to work on breaking down as well.

"It started with two little children in the kingdom's garden..."

It was regular day and although the sun wasn't out, the fluffy clouds certainly were which would be almost the perfect day for the two little children to play around in the garden for some time. And they did, they snuck out at a rather early morning and played all the way until the afternoon. As they were called to come inside, the attention was taken away from one child in particular which opened the stage for the unsuspecting spirit to snatch the child away.

If it were not for one child being more cared for and spoiled, one being neglected and thrown away, half the kingdom wouldn't have been affected and they would be prepared to face the greatest yet unexpected war of all. Unfortunately, it was too late to take back all the special treatment now as soon, one of the future princes and angels of the kingdom would be cursed.
