Chapter 13

Zach's P.O.V.

I finally asked Brenda to be my girlfriend, and I was happy, I can't lie. Here we were right now sitting down by the water and we were holding hands. She looked at me and gave me a kiss on the cheek, how come I felt warmth whenever she kissed me? That sounded kind of gay, but I really didn't care because I have Brenda.

We soon left the amusement park because it was getting late and we were bored. We walked to her car and I drove us home.

When we arrived at the house, we went inside and decided to watch a movie. Brenda went to go get dressed and I picked out a movie. When I finished picked out the movie, I went to go change into sweatpants.

Brenda's P.O.V.

I was so happy that Zach was now my boyfriend, I couldn't stop smiling. I needed to control myself though, this may be a trick. Once I finished putting on shorts and a t-shirt, I went downstairs to make popcorn for the movie.

I walked into the living room with the bowl of popcorn in my hand and I saw Zach shirtless, which made me stop. He just smirked at me and said, "You like what you see?"

I just stood there and then got out of my daydream. I walked over to the couch and sat down, and Zach sat next to me. We covered up with a blanket and had popcorn.

"What movie did you pick?" I said while popping a piece of popcorn in my mouth.

"Paranormal Activity," he said while reaching for the bowl of popcorn.

"You just want me to get scared don't you?" I questioned.

"Yep."

"Why so I scooted closer to you?"

"Pretty much," and this made me blush.

I got out of my spot and went to go turn off the lights. We sat there and watched the movies and when it came to the scary parts, I scooted closer to Zach. When I did scoot closer to him, he just smiled and then wrapped his arm around my waist.

When the movie was over, I looked at Zach, he looked tired. I needed to ask him something though.

"Zach, when are we going on our first date?" I asked.

"Never," he said.

"What do you mean?" I asked really confused.

"We are never going in a first date because I never liked you. Brenda, you were just another girl I use," he said.

"What?"

"You heard me, I never liked you."

I woke up from my dream with a scream and started to cry. Thank gosh it was just a dream. Zach looked at me worried. I felt warm tears run down my cheek.

"What is the matter?" he asked.

"I had a dream, and I asked you when our date was, you said never because you never liked me and that I was just another girl you used," I said hyperventilating now. "Is it true?" I asked. He looked at me hurt now.

"Brenda I would never do that to you, I do like you and you are the first real girlfriend I had, even if we haven't been dating for a day, you still are a real girlfriend. I mean you are different from the other girls," he stated.

"Well, one day you'll get bored with me and move on to a different girl."

"No, I won't."

"And why is that?"

"Because you are different and full of surprises. You are unpredictable Brenda," he said while cupping my face. Then he kissed, he pulled away like four seconds later saying, "I really do like you Brenda, and I was actually pretty scared and nervous to ask you out," he said.

"I really like you too Zach," I said pulling in for a kiss.

"And I know where we can go for our first date," he said.

"Where?" I asked.

"It's a surprise and just to let you know, it's not romantic," he stated.

Ugh, I hate surprises so much!

Date Night

I woke up that morning with a smile on my face. I checked my phone for the time and it was noon already, and I our date doesn't start till six, so I had a lot of time in my hands.

My phone went off, and it was my friend Christina.

Christina: What are you wearing to prom?

Me: I have no idea.When is it?

Christina: This weekend.

Well this sucks because it is already Wednesday.I haven't even thought about prom, I had forgot it was coming up. I didn't even know if Zach wanted to go to prom because he isn't that type of guy who goes to dances.

Me: I will text when I know. And do you want to come over today, like right now?

Christina: Sure, be over in five. Love you.

I had just been sitting in my room, but then I heard the front door open, which was Christina . I have known Christina for a long time, so she is basically family, which means she just walks into my house without knocking. When she came in my bedroom, I gave he big hug, I haven't hung out with her in forever, well besides school.

She sat down on my bed and I had to tell someone about me and Zach so I told her. I told her the whole story in about 20-30 minutes. She just stared at me in shock for a minute, which then formed into a huge grin on her face that made me blush.

Then I told her about my date tonight and she said that she would help me get ready. We looked through my clothes for about an hour trying to look for something for me wear on my first date, until we finally decided on an outfit.

The outfit included a pink long sleeved shirt, a high waisted white skirt, golden flats, and a golden wrist purse. I decided to leave my hair down for the date, and had Christina straighten my hair and then curl the bottom of my hair. Then I put a little flower crown in my hair. I looked in the mirror and thought I looked pretty nice. Christina even added a little make up, but you weren't able to tell.

Then I hugged her goodbye and she went back home. I had a couple more minutes until Zach and I actually left. I went downstairs and went on my phone airing for Zach to come downstairs. As few moments later Zach came downstairs.

He was on his phone but the looked up and just stared in shock. Maybe I dressed up too much. I just notice I said that last part outside because Zach replied.

"No, it's fine, you're not too dressed up," he said.

"Ok," I said with a blush.

"You ready?" he asked.

"Yep," I said grabbing my coat and then we left.

We got into my car and we off. It took 20 minutes for us to arrive at our destination. I looked out the window and saw that we were at the movies.

"I thought you said it wasn't romantic?" I asked.

"Well..." he said, "I guess it is I just wasn't rally sure if it would be romantic enough for you," he stated.

"Oh," I said with a little blush coming to my cheeks.

We got out of the car and started walking to the movie theater. As we were walking, Zach wrapped his arm around my waist. Then he gave me a kiss on my nose.

I could tell already this was going to be a great night.
