"you're gonna get wet vincent!" i yell out as the boy runs out into the pouring rain, barefoot.

"who cares! just come, it's fun i promise baby!" he chuckles, spreading his arms wide and sticking his tongue out.

i giggle at him, watching as he lets the raindrops fall onto his face.

i sigh out before taking a step into the downfall, quickly running over to vinnie in the middle of the street.

he lays down, clothes becoming soaking wet and i gasp at his actions.

"a car could come vin" i tug at his arm to lift him up but he doesn't budge. instead he pats the space next to him.

"vin..."

"please, a car won't come. but if it does i guess we'll just die" i roll my eyes and he laughs.

i feel my clothes stick to my body as i lay in the space next to vinnie, staring up at the grey and clouded sky.

"this is peaceful right?" i nod, feeling his arm wrap around my body.

the only thing that can be heard is the harsh contact of the rain with rooftops, cars and the ground.

the rain becomes heavier, and it almost feels like i'm swimming. but vinnie is right, it is calming.

"we should do this more often" his low voice breaks the violence and i connect our gaze.

"sure, but maybe not in the middle of the road where we're prone to die?" we share a laugh as vinnie leans down to press a kiss to my forehead.

his hand tangles through my wet hair, slowly massaging my scalp as the autumn sky becomes lighter and the sun pierces through the clouds.
