A little girl laid in bed panting heavily, as a thick coat of sweat covered her body.

She shifted around in her sleep whimpering and whining, unknowing of the person lightly shaking her, calling out her name.

The person shook her a bit more violently and called out her name louder.

The little girl jolted out of her sleep breathing heavily causing a painting in the room to catch fire.

The fire slowly died out as she controlled her breathing.

She looked to her right to see a girl the same age as her but with opposing qualities.

Where she had blonde hair the girl had auburn. And as her eyes were green the girls were blue.

The girl wore a worried and anxious expression on her face as she stared at her sister who sat in bed.

"Hey." The girl turned her head to the left to see her mother with the same expression that her sister wore crouching beside her bed. "You okay baby girl?"

The said girl shook her head no.

"Another nightmare?" Her mother asked. The girl nodded her head. "Do you wanna talk about it?"

The girl instantly shook her head no again. "Mom?" She spoke softly with tears filling her eyes. "Why does this keep happening to me?"

Her mother looked at her daughter heartbroken a sharp pain in her chest at seeing her daughter hurting like this.

"I don't know baby girl." She answered honestly her voice slightly wavering. "But I promise you I'm gonna find out. Okay? I'm gonna find out how to fix this for you."

The girl let her tears fall from her eyes letting out a few cries. "Okay." She said with a sniffle.

Her mother reached her hands up and swiped her thumbs across her daughter's cheeks, "Don't cry. It's gonna be okay."

The girl's sister crawled onto her bed and wrapped her arms around the girl laying her head on her shoulder.

FAITH'S BRIGHT GREEN EYES fluttered open. She sat up looking around confused.

It was just a dream. She realized.

Looking around once more she saw that her sister was nowhere to be found in their shared dorm room. Turning to the clock in their room she noticed that it was seven in the morning.

She knew she had to get up and ready at eight so she stood from her bed and began getting ready.

"GIVEN RECENT EVENTS, SOME STUDENTS have expressed concern that I am not allowing you to have a say in the decisions that affect your future." Alaric started at an assembly he called. "And I agree. You are expected to abide by the school's policies it's only fair that you have a voice in how those rules are made. So, I am forming an honor council. One vampire, one witch, and one werewolf, each elected by their peers. Along with our school counselor Emma, whose vote will represent the younger students. Now I have to go off-campus. In the meantime, I expect you to make good decisions and to vote wisely. That's all you're dismissed."
