5:00 p.m
FAITH STOOD IN HER DORM ROOM searching through her drawers for a sweater to put on.
She wanted to avoid any questions that would arise if anyone saw her bandaged arm, at least until it healed which shouldn't be too long.
As she was pulling the sweater over her head she heard the door open behind her and didn't need to look over to know who it was.
"The monster got to Landon." Hope stood at the doorway with urgency eyeing her sister. "Dr. Saltzman has him in his office now."
Faith turned around and walked past Hope and out the door, "Okay, let's go then."
Hope followed behind with a slight furrow in her eyebrows as she stared at Faith's back. "Did something happen...?"
Faith slowed down a bit clearing her throat and looking back towards Hope. "Why would you think that?"
"Just because you're acting a bit off," Hope answered like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
They navigated through a few younger students apologizing for their urgency passing by them on the way. Faith looked over and saw Pedro playing a board game with a girl around the same age as him. He was already looking over at her and he smiled kindly. Faith was surprised to see him there but figured he and the rest of the kids would be evacuating the school soon enough.
Faith smiled back at him and gave him a small wave. She then looked over to her left more and caught a glimpse of Noah out of the corner of her eye. She faltered in her steps a little as she caught his blue eyes looking in her direction too and the smile dropped from her face slowly.
Noah glanced at her getting up from the couch he was lounging on.
"Faith?" Hope's voice broke through, and Faith glanced at her.
"Yeah," Faith looked back over at Noah, and when it looked like he was approaching her she turned to Hope again and said, "Sorry, let's go."
When Faith and Hope finally made it to Alaric's office Landon was already there sitting in a chair clutching his hand.
Hope rushed over to him when she noticed he was hurt and inspected his wound sitting next to him while Faith just stood over and looked at how bad it was. Alaric made another announcement to the school.
"The senior witch faculty had mixed together a batch of energy herbs to help you stay awake," Alaric said over the P.A. "So for those of you who are not getting on the evacuation bus, for lack of a better term, please dose yourselves responsibly."
Faith sat down on a chair that was right in front of Alaric's desk. She held her hand under her head to keep it propped up lazily.
"I'm gonna get sued," Alaric murmured placing the P.A down. "Or hexed, at the very least."
"You don't have to be so hard on yourself," Landon said. "At my last school, the gym teacher was dealing coke under the bleachers."
"Oh, yeah, that only makes me feel marginally better," Alaric replied.
"Ow," Landon groaned as Hope continued to put something on the wound on the palm of his hand.
"Hey, uh, hold still." Hope tried to soothe him. "I'm almost done, okay?"
"Okay," Landon said. "What do you think she meant when she said "bring it home"?"
"I'm guessing she means Malivore," Alaric answered. "It seems her plan is to torment us until we produce the urn."
"Right. But if the Night Hag is a monster that's trapped on the astral plane, then how can she even physically take the urn anywhere...?"
As Alaric, Landon, and Hope dragged the conversation on, Faith was beginning to zone out entirely.
