"What did you do?" A shaky voice asked as she crouched down in front of the small child. "Baby, what have you done?" Grabbing the wrist of the little girl she looked down fearfully.

The girl looked at the adult in front of her blankly without an once of emotion on her face. "What do you mean? Did I do something bad?" The innocent question startled the adult in front of her. It was so sudden and confusing the woman in front of her almost didn't know what to do.

"You— you don't know what happened?" She grasped the child's wrist a little tighter to look into those completely dull faded eyes. "Do you remember?"

Those eyes suddenly changed completely and if the older woman had blanked for even a second instead of keeping her entirely focused eyes on the girl then she would have thought she had been hallucinating it.

The small girl let tears well up in her eyes, and soon came small sniffles. "Did I do something really bad?" She asked because the look on her mother's face was concerning her. "Are you mad at me?"

The woman looked up at her child's broken face as she tries to soothe her daughter. She rubbed her back softly and shushed her cries. "No."

The women looked down to the child's bloodied hands.

"YOU DID NOTHING WRONG."
