—IT'S BEEN A MONTH SINCE THE honor council election took place.
A month since Faith and Noah fought.
And a month since Faith and Rafael kissed.
Faith and Noah ended up patching things up between themselves and became closer as friends. But Rafael and Faith barely spoke to each other.
She'd also been avoiding Lizzie and Josie as much as possible because of the guilt she felt for what had happened with herself and Rafael. The only people who knew about it were herself and Rafael in the first place.
She was planning to tell Lizzie and Josie eventually, she just needed time... and didn't think it'd be right to tell them on their birthday which happened to be today.
"What's that on your wrist?" Hope asked Faith one of those days when they were both sitting in their rooms just relaxing. Something they hardly get to do.
"Oh, this?" Faith said as she sat up from her bed pointing to her wrists where the bracelet was. Hope nodded. "It's to keep me from doing any magic. Dr. Saltzman gave it to me."
"Oh," Hope hummed getting up from her bed standing in front of Faith. "Let me see it." Faith looked confused but gave Hope her wrists as she watched her examine the bracelet.
Hope muttered a spell under her breath causing Faith to quickly tug her arm away in shock. "What'd you just do?"
"Relax. I only spelled it so you couldn't take it off." Hope told her.
"I didn't need you to do that." Faith said. "I wouldn't have taken it off anyway, Hope."
"Oh, really?" Hope asked with a raised eyebrow, tone condescending. "What if you're in a situation that requires you to put yourself in danger by using your magic to save someone like I don't know, Lizzie or Josie."
"Then of course I would use my magic to save them." Faith let out. "I couldn't stand idly by and do nothing while they fight. I care about them."
"And I care about you," Hope told her sternly. "I won't allow you to die for anyone else's sake."
"It isn't your decision to tell me who I can make that sacrifice for." Faith muttered quietly.
She didn't want to argue with her sister because she knew if she was in Hope's shoes she would probably do the same thing. She understood that Hope was just trying to protect her. She
immediately felt guilty realizing what she said was selfish and hypocritical."Well, as long as you have that on, it is," Hope said pointing to her bracelet. Hope walked back over to her bed and sat back down. "And since I'm the one who spelled it I'm the only one who can unspell it."
"Yeah, I know how magic works," Faith mumbled.
"Just thought I'd save you the trouble of going to another witch to try and get it off."
"How generous of you."

"SO FAITH," NOAH SAT BESIDE THE GIRL on the couch where she was peacefully reading. Keyword: was.
"What's up?" Faith sighed not looking up from her book. The Hunger Games. She was on the second book and boy was it getting interesting.
"I was just wondering what time I should get you from your dorm when we go to this party." Noah smiled at her. "Should we color coordinate or—"
"Woah, whoa, whoa. Wait." Faith quickly stopped what he was going to say, looking up from her book. "Who said I was even going with you to this thing anyway?"
