Standing Alone

Part 34

Hagrid lifts up my brother and carries him back to the castle I walk beside them. I know he's breathing but he was dead, for a moment he was dead. I did that. Everyone walks out of the castle, immediately they notice something is wrong.

"Who is that? Who is that Hagrid is carrying?" Ginny becomes frantic

I briskly walk over and hug Ginny.

"No, no he can't be" Ginny sobs

"Harry Potter is dead!" Voldemort announces.

I hold Ginny back.

"We have to stay strong now." I whisper

"Silence! Stupid girl." Voldemort shouts

"Harry Potter is dead, from this day forth you will put your faith in me" Voldemort declares

"Now is the time, come forward and join us!" he shouts

No one moves. Ginny shifts so that she's beside me, we have death grip on each other's hands.

"Draco" Lucious calls

I whip my head around and see Draco in the crowd. He looked so lost. His eyes find mine.

"It's okay" I whisper

"Draco!" Lucious shouts

"Go! I still believe in you." I mouth to him

"Draco!" his mother calls to him

Draco slowly steps forwards and as he walks to the other side Voldemort pulls him into a strange and awkward embrace.

Suddenly Neville limps forwards holding the sorting hat seeming to switch sides.

"Well, I must say I'd hope for better." Voldemort laughs

"And who might you be, young man?" Voldemort asks

"I'm Neville Longbottom" Neville answer and the Death Eaters laugh at him

"Well Neville I'm sure there's someplace for you." Voldemort starts

"I'd like to say something." Neville requests

Voldemort becomes agitated

"Well, Neville, I'm sure we'd all be fascinated to hear what you have to say" He answers

"It doesn't matter that Harry's gone. People die every day. Friends, family. Yeah, we lost Harry tonight. But he's still with us, in here." Neville says touching his heart

I start to tear up again.

"So's Fred, Remus. Tonks" Neville names off

"Severus" I speak up for myself proudly

Voldemort side eyes me and I glare at him.

"They didn't die in vain. But you will. Because you're wrong" Neville says proudly

Voldemort chuckles at him finding it amusing.

"It's not over!" Neville declares and pulls the Gryffindor sword from the hat

Harry jumps out of Hagrid's arms and sets Nagini on fire.

Harry takes off running as Voldemort throws attacks at him.

"This way!" I call leading everyone towards the castle

Harry meets up with us as Death Eater either run away for start fighting.

"I'll lure him towards the castle. We need to kill the snake." Harry urges

"You'll need this" Hermione says and attempts to take the sword from Neville.

Neville jumps into action and tries to run at Voldemort. Voldemort blasts Neville and I run and duck under him running towards Draco.

"Draco!" I scream he turns around

"Stay!" I beg

Draco stands there looking between his mum and me.

"Draco, help me." I plead

Draco sprints towards me and embraces me closely. I sigh breathing him in.

"Draco! Get Back Here!" His mother yells

"I missed you. All I've wanted is you here." I mumble into his chest

"I'm sorry it took me this long." He says tightening the embrace

"We have to talk. But after the war." I say and kiss him

Draco smiles into the kiss.

"You make brave." he whispers pulling back slightly.

"I have to go back now. I'll understand if you don't follow." I say and slowly back up

Draco smiles sadly and turns to his family. I sprint back to the castle and watch Voldemort walk upstairs. Harry jumps out and hits him with an attack. Suddenly I'm hit in the side. I look over and see Amycus smirking.

"Hello, princess. I can't wait to have more fun with you." He taunts stepping closer to me

I stare up at my nightmare trying to be brave. He continues to circle me like prey.

I close my eyes and give into defeat when I hear a blast. I open my eyes and see Draco had attacked Amycus. Draco walks over and gives me a hand up.

Then I see Harry out of the corner of my eye, he was battling hard with Voldemort.

Harry locks eyes with Nagini, he makes an attempt to attack but dodges Voldemort's attack.

While Voldemort was distracted with Harry, Hermione tries to lure Nagini towards her.

Draco and I get caught up in defense battle. Once it's calm for a moment, I take off looking for Harry. I see him and Voldemort leap off a ledge.

"HARRY!" I scream

I try and keep my sight on them, finally they land. I run to stand beside my brother.

I turn around and see Ron and Hermione running from Nagini. I watch in horror as she's about attack them, but out of nowhere Neville decapitates her with the Gryffindor sword. I smile in relief

"Now!" I yell 

Harry wastes no time in defeating our greatest nemesis.
