Robert rounded the corner of the beanery and spotted his wife. Her back was to him as she filled her to-go coffee cup. Their shift was almost over and he couldn't wait to get home. His hand grazed her lower back and he whispered to her, "Buenos Dias, mamacita". Holding her close, Robert dropped a kiss to the side of her neck.

Andy licked her lips and took a breath even as she attempted to resist. "Don't do that." Her insides clenched a little at the deep baritone of his voice and heat of his body so close to hers. She hated sleeping a part on their nights at the station. She'd missed him last night and he knew it.

"Do what?" Robert feigned innocence as he held Andy close and breathed in the scent of her.

"You know what I'm talking about... that voice, those words, your hand almost on my ass," Andy said in a vain attempt to push him away. Robert laughed and she shook her head. "You just want to take me to bed."

Robert shrugged his shoulders. "What can I say, I always want you." He was unapologetic about his desire for his wife. "Besides, you're kind of a sure thing."

Andy nudged him. "Hey!" Robert grinned, but grabbed his side pretending to be hurt. "Sounds like I should make you work for it." Andy turned to face him and her hands found his waist. It wasn't long before their flirting was interrupted by Dean.

"Probie," Dean joked with a smile, "No smooching on shift. And you Herrera..." He shook his head, though they all knew he didn't care. He did like to tease them both, though.

Robert rolled his eyes just slightly, paying Dean little mind. They had really come a long way in their friendship the past few months and Robert could tell he wasn't serious. "Technically shift is just about over," he said before dropping a quick kiss on Andy's cheek and heading back towards the lockers.

"Hate to see you go, but love to watch you leave," Andy said, giving Robert a sassy grin as he walked away. He really did fill out a pair of jeans nicely...well, pretty much anything or nothing at all.

A short while later, as they headed down the stairs and out to the car. "Are you finally gonna tell me what the "thing" is we have to take care of this morning?" Robert asked.

Andy looked at her watch to check the time, "It's just a doctor's appointment." Seeing the immediate concern on Robert's face she quickly said, "I'm fine. It's totally routine and we should be done pretty quickly."

"Okay," Robert replied and started navigating the car towards Grey Sloan. He heard her words but still felt like something else was going on. They made the short drive to the hospital, parked and headed into the waiting area. As they sat in companionable silence he couldn't help asking. "Are you sure you're okay?"

Andy saw the worry on his face and patted his thigh. "Yes. I'm sure." She gave him a reassuring smile and answered casually. She'd had a few days to wrap her mind around the news and was feeling more calm now than she was initially. I mean, she was no zen master, but she knew they would figure this out. Their love and relationship had already weathered so many storms.

Carina headed towards the waiting room to collect Andy and Robert. Normally a nurse would come and check them in, but she knew Andy was surprising Robert and wanted to be there for that. They had all developed a sort of camaraderie over the past few months with all the time she spent at the station and Andy staying with her and Maya for a bit during the separation.

"Andy, Robert." Carina said, donning a pair of pink scrubs. When she reached them, Andy and Carina gave each other a squeeze.

"We're seeing a lady doctor?" Robert asked, looking between both women with confusion on his face. "Do I need to be here for this?"

Carina laughed at him as he clearly hadn't put two and two together. "Gli uomini sono idioti."

Deadpan, Andy replied back. "Well, only if you want to see your baby."

"Baby," Robert choked out. He was a smart man, but definitely not tracking.

Taking pity on him, Carina said with a smile. "Your wife is pregnant Robert, you're going to be a papa."

Robert looked over at Andy and saw the confirmation on her face. He couldn't help the excitement on his face as he pulled her into a tight hug, lifting her small frame up off the ground. "We're having a baby."

Carina's hand rested over her heart and her eyes squinted as she smiled at her two friends. They'd had a hard road, she didn't know all the details, but she knew they deserved happiness. Knowing the window of time they had was short, she interrupted. "Now, I hate to break up the moment, but do you want to keep talking about it or go see him or her?"

With that, Robert grabbed Andy's hand snuggly and the threesome headed back for the ultrasound.
