23: Hurt

Minho's POV:

                          It had been a month since police last visited us. We kept Chae hidden from the world. We didn't take her out, not even to Felix's Grandma's place. It was all going good. Felix was still in hospital along with Changbin who insisted to take care of him.

It was dinner time. We all gathered at the dinner table, all except Chan. 

"Where's Chan?" I asked.

"In his room. Can you ask him to come downstairs for dinner?" asked Hyunjin.

I nodded and went towards his room. That's odd. He's always the first one at the dinner table. He's been a bit weird these past days. Staying in his room most of the time, zoning out frequently while eating. I reached his room and knocked, waiting for his response. After a while, he opened his door slightly, peeking his head out.

"Oh Hi Minho! What happened?"

"Dinner happened. And you're late."

"It's already dinner time? Sorry. I'll be there in five."

"Ok" I nodded, returning to the dinner table.

Something's wrong...

He never did this. He always opened his door completely. 

He's hiding something.

But why would he hide something from us? Unless... it's related to our past...

During the whole dinner, my mind was preoccupied with a million thoughts, none of them good. 

"Earth to Lee Minho!!! Are you even alive?"

"I'm completely alive, Hyunjin. Let me eat in peace."

"There's no peace in this household bro," said Han.

Bro. That's all I am. A brother.

Chan started, "I was thinking something-"

"Whoa! You can think?" I teased.

He gritted his teeth.

"-And I want to tell you all something. But before that, Chae needs to go to bed. Which means you'll have to wait till she sleeps"

We all groaned.

3rd Person POV:

                                 They all gathered in the living room after putting Chae to sleep, in Minho's room this time. She slept in random rooms every night. This time, it was Minho's.

"So what's that thing you wanted to tell us?" asked Hyunjin.

"It's about Chae," replied Chan.

We all sat up straight.

"Is it good or bad?" asked Han.

"Good."

We all let out a collective sigh of relief. 

Chan started, "Now listen without interrupting. Han, Seungmin, and Minho, you three are going to take Chae to the mall tomorrow. Buy her some ice cream, plushies, clothes, toys; anything she wants. Make sure she enjoys because she's been cooped up in this place for far too long."
