The next day hazel found herself sat with her legs crossed just staring at the wall again, she hasn't opened her mouth or talked to anyone despite their attempts to get her chatting again, she knew people were getting worried about her but she didn't want to get hurt again and that's what she thought was going to happen. She looked up as jay and hailey walked into the room holding a case file, she hasn't saw them in a whole day, it's nice to see their faces.  Hailey sat down on her bed and smiled sadly as jay stood next to her, "you feeling any better?" Hailey nodded supportively. Hazel slowly nodded but watched them both cautiously, she was having a little case of trust issues at the moment. Hailey smiled, "good, we have a few pictures we just need you to look at okay? It'll be nice and quick, just tell us if you recognise any of these people" she pulled out a piece of paper, although she didn't want to.

Jay just watched as hailey passed hazel the piece of paper, the teenager looked down at the images and instantly threw the paper away, she shook her head vigorously out of fear, "hey it's okay, it's okay. Did you recognise anyone?" Jay crouched down and placed his hands on her shoulders carefully.  Hazel looked up and nodded surely, "can you tell us who?" He nodded back.  Hazel took the paper again with her shaky hands and quickly pointed to the two men and the woman that drugged her up, "two men and that lady?" Hailey nodded.  Hazel slowly nodded her head, once again not saying a word, she was sure she was gonna lose her voice from not speaking soon.

Jay nodded, "we're gonna be back real soon okay? We promise" he rubbed her arm before the pair ran out of the room. Dr Charles walked in to see the terrified look on her face, "what're you feeling hazel?" He sat down, hoping that she'd finally open up to him. She shook her head as her tears spilled from her eyes, "scared..." she finally spoke for the first time in two days. Dr Charles sat up straighter as she finally said something, "really scared..." she added which took him by surprise. Dr Charles nodded, "that's okay, it's totally normal to be scared right now but you need to realise how brave you're being. You're staying so strong" he moved onto her bed as she cried her heart out, placing his arm on her shoulder. He smiled sadly, "it's okay..." he rubbed her arm. For the first time in a week, she broke down.

A few hours later jay and hailey walked back into med, they knew exactly what happened to hazel. She was snatched off the streets, locked in a bedroom and forced into being a lab rat while the three suspects drugged her up and tested their little drug mixture on her, no wonder she's been mute for so long, she's traumatised.  They walked towards her hospital room now they were off shift but were confused when hazel was inside, "hey, have you seen dr Charles anywhere?" Hailey turned around and looked at April.  April nodded, "I'll page him for you now" she smiled weakly and grabbed the Mack hind to page the psychiatrist onto the ED floor.  Dr Charles came down within a minute and approached the detectives, "everything alright?" He nodded.  Jay pointed to the room, "has she been moved yet?" He tilted his head.

Dr Charles looked inside her room, "no we didn't, April where's my patient? Did you see where she went?" He tapped the desk.  April shook her head, "she was in there 5 minutes ago" she shrugged.  Dr Charles nodded, "alright call security and tell them to look out for a teenage girl, possibly wearing volleyball attire, possibly bleeding" he tapped the desk.  He turned back to the detectives, "she can't have gone far but her clothes are gone" he nodded, the volleyball shirt, socks and shorts she came in with were now missing but her shoes were still there, she probably didn't have time to put them on.  Jay nodded, "we'll look outside" he began running towards the exit as hailey followed.

It really didn't take them long to run outside and find hazel sat on a bench near the taxis, "I'll go get her" he nodded as hailey lingered behind a bit.  He slowly approached her and sat down to see that she was indeed wearing her clothes again but no shoes, "what're you doing out here haz?" He looked in her direction.  Hazel shrugged, "running away" she finally spoke to him, jay didn't expect her to answer but when she did he sighed in relief a little, "with no shoes on?" He nodded to her feet.  Hazel looked down and realised she forgot her shoes, "yeah..." she spoke in defeat.  Jay nodded, "you're not running away haz, you're okay. We found them and they're never gonna hurt you again" he wrapped his jacket around her.

She instantly felt her emotions hit her at once, "it's never gonna get better..." she let out a painful sob.  Jay frowned and placed his arm around her, "it will haz, it's gonna be just fine I promise. You're so brave you know that?" He rubbed her arm as she cried into his shoulder.  He looked over at hailey and nodded as he saw dr Charles stood with her, "I'm so tired..." she shook her head, sounding exhausted.  Jay furrowed his brows, "that's understandable haz, but everything's gonna be fine, you've got me and hailey by your side and we're not leaving you" he rubbed her arm again.  She let out a loud sigh before he smiled sadly to himself, "let's get you back inside" he stood up and held his hand out.

When they made their way back inside it was silent, "we know what happened haz, you don't have to relive it" hailey smiled and placed a hand on the girls leg. Hazel nodded, thank god for that, "but we do need you to tell us how you ended up out there in the first place" jay added. Hazel smiled weakly and nodded, "my mom said she was taking me to try out for the volleyball team again, but then she stalled the car and told me to check the trunk but when I did she drove away. I was in some really sketchy neighbourhood so I just ran, I didn't stop running until I got lost" she looked down. Jay looked at hailey and shook his head, so Stacey dumped her own daughter in the middle of the street, how sick...
