At around 8pm, later that day, hazel found herself sat in her dads car as he drove them both to the club he always goes to, "just keep your mouth shut and do as I say, I mean it" he huffed. She didn't want to argue, so she just nodded and looked out of the window, she hates going places with her dad, it never ends well. She was listening to the music, 'Stan' by Eminem was playing, it's her dads second favourite song, his firsts obviously 'sex on fire' by kings of Leon's but that song had just been on, eventually the car rolled to a halt and her dad huffed before unbuckling his seat belt, "c'mon" he got out of the car, leaving her to follow him into the club.
The pair walked into a nightclub, a rather familiar one, as the bouncer let them right in, to be honest hazel could've gotten in without her dad, she looks more than old enough. Her dad grabbed her arm protectively and lead her over to a group of men who were sat in a VIP area, "Jackson and the junior" the head boss nodded and smiled at the kid, none of the men had any bad intentions towards the kid, they just wanted her company. The small family sat down, Norman isn't a very tall man but he's muscular and stern, that's why hazel isn't very tall either, she's only about 5'2 but she's matured much faster than most kids her age which is why she acts older too. The boss nodded, "I've got the stuff, is your girl still free to move it around?" He looked at hazel as the kids eyes scanned the dance floor.
Norman nodded, "oh yeah, she's still good for it" he smiled. The man nodded slowly, "perfect, I don't have it on me though so you're gonna have to take this and meet my supplier at this location. He's already there" he passed Norman a key and a piece of paper, "I can trust you right?" He added. Norman nodded, "of course" he smiled and stood up, "thanks for doing business" he added before leading hazel back out of the club, "where are we going? How comes we didn't see the big man this time?" She looked up at him. Norman huffed, "because we didn't" he shrugged and practically dragged her out of the club and back into the car before he got inside himself and began driving to the garage location he was given.
They arrived at the garage slots in no time and hopped out of the car before walking down the alley to meet this man whom they had no clue who he was. The slightly smaller man huffed, "so you're the guy? And I'm assuming this is your little one" he laughed a little. Norman nodded, "I don't do small talk, you got my stuff or not?" He sighed. Hazel moved behind her dad slightly since something felt off, the aura felt cold and eerie. The man raised an eyebrow, it was dark but the street light lit up his miniature features, "slow down, I don't do rushing either" he puffed his chest up and moved his hand down to his belt line. Normans eyes followed the mans action and before they knew it them both had their guns drawn on each other, "put it down or I'll shoot the kid" the man scoffed. Norman shook his head and pushed hazel right behind him, "you wouldn't dare" he snapped.
The man laughed and moved his gun down to hazels arm which was poking out the side, Norman may treat his daughter like crap at times but he would never want to get her killed so he fired his gun first. Hazel watched as the bullet left her dads gun and collided with the mans chest, her eyes widened in fear as he fell to the floor, his breath immediately leaving his consciousness. She stepped out from behind her dad and let out a shaky breath, "fuck... just don't look" her dad waved his gun around in a panic. Hazel shook her head, "too late..." she stuttered and backed away. Norman stared at his daughters even paler face and sighed, "look at me, it's gonna be okay. We just gotta get him into the trunk and I'll take care of the rest" he put his gun away and held his arm out.
Hazel looked up at him with tears in her eyes, she couldn't believe what she just saw, she never thought her dad would kill someone, "I..." she stopped moving. Norman sighed, "listen haz, c'mon just help me please. It's all gonna be okay, I promise" he pointed to the mans arms. Hazel let out another shaky breath and bit back her tears, "okay..." she whimpered a little and walked over to the dead mans body to lift him up via his armpits as her dad grabbed his legs. They quickly and clumsily dragged the mans body into the boot of normans care before he closed the boot, "get in" he signalled to the passenger door. Without needing to be told twice, fearing her dads actions, she hopped into the car as he pulled out his phone and walked down the alley again to where the incident happened.
She looked down at her blood covered hands and began sobbing, what has she just been dragged into? Can her life get any worse? She let her hands tremble as she lifted them off her clothes, not wanting there to be any more evidence than there already is. She quickly subdued her sobs to a sniffle as her dad got back into the car, "I'm sorry you had to see that haz, I really am, and I'll make it up to you I promise. I just need some time to think" he began driving. Hazel didn't even process his words, all she heard was a broken promise and a meaningless sorry, the kind she hears all the time; she was angry, angry at him for not having blood on his hands, for killing that man, for even bringing her into this world even, but more so than anything, she was terrified. So instead of lashing out she sat there in silence, just watching as her dad sped around corner and dodged traffic like he had a death wish.
It took about half an hour before Norman pulled up right by the water, it was pitch black, no one was around, and it was eerily quiet, "I need you to help me put the body behind the rocks" he got out of the car. Hazel didn't want to fall out with him after seeing what he's capable of but at the same time she doesn't want to help hide a body, she let out a small cry before following her dad around to the trunk and following his orders as he guided them over to the rocks by the water. Norman groaned at the mans body weight, "one, two, three" he huffed. The pair set the man down in between two big rocks where he was more or less fully hidden when the tides in, and backed away, "you did so well haz..." he tried to turn this into a positive thing.
Hazel shook her head and let the tears silently roll down her cheek, "we just hid a body..." she shook her head again. Norman pulled her close, "but you're not gonna tell anyone. Because I'm pretty sure you don't wanna go to jail, isn't that true?" He manipulated her. Hazel shook her head, "not again..." she sniffled. Norman nodded with a small smile, "didn't think so, that means you tell no one and you act like this never happened, got it?" He turned to face her. Hazel nodded slowly but kept her eyes on the body, "got it..." she whispered, the images of what she'd just witnessed already forming in her mind, Norman smiled, "I'll make it up to you tomorrow" he lead her bag to the car, his hands clean, but hazels were blooded up. He drove them home, it was now around 4:45am since it took him more than long enough to figure out what to do with the body, she didn't sleep at all, she got a shower and changed into PJ's before staring at the wall until morning.
