*one week later*

Hazel was sat minding her own business in the doctors lounge whilst she was scrolling through her emails, anxiously waiting for a confirmation or a declining from the interview she had last week. She really wants this more than anything, and it's made it ten times easier knowing she has lots of people standing behind her, cheering her on every step of the way. She ran her hands over her face as dr Marcel wandered into the room, "any news yet?" He smiled, heading for the coffee pot. Hazel sighed, "not ye..." she began but the sound of an email coming through her laptop cut her off, she looked up at Crockett to see him smiling, "you sure about that?" He raised an eyebrow, turning to face her.

She looked down and clicked on the email before composing herself, "oh shit..." she gasped, "I got in" she smiled, squealing as she stood up.  Crockett opened his mouth in shock and happiness, "I knew you'd get it" he chuckled as a very ecstatic teenager jumped into his arms, "don't tell Will I swore" she chuckled as he put her back down.  Crockett smiled, "my mouth is sealed, but he's been a bag of nerves all morning so you better go tell him" he chuckled.  She smiled, "I will... oh, and thank you for everything. With the studying and the support..." she stopped at the door.  Dr Marcel smiled, "no problem kiddo, maybe I'll have you on my team in day" he wiggled his eyebrows.  Hazel smiled and chuckled before running off to go find Will.

"Will!" She squealed as he stepped out of the elevator, luckily bumping into him.  The red head jumped out of his skin, "woah, what happened?" He furrowed his brows.  Hazel smiled, "I got in!" She raised her arms.  Wills eyes widened, "you got in? What? That's amazing..." he picked her up into a bear hug.  Hazel chuckled, "you get to see my face here, every weekend now" she smiled.  Will smiled, "that'll make my weekend even better. Go and call jay and hails, they'll be glad to hear about it" he ruffled up her hair. Hazel smiled, "thanks for everything" she nodded sincerely. Will smiled, "don't go soft on me now" he raised his eyebrows at her. She chuckled before wandering down the hall, where signal was more likely to be found.

Jay was sat at his desk, during his break, when his phone began ringing. He knew hazel was staying with Will at work today, apparently she's more help at the hospital than in the district, but he didn't mind since he knows how much she loves being in that place. He grabbed his phone to see hazels name across the top of it, and answered right away...
Jay: "what did you break? How much do I owe?"
Hazel: "shut up! I would never break anything..."
Jay: "yeah right, you're like a bull in a China shop"
Hazel: "oh please... well anyways I called to tell you that I have some news"
Jay: "did you get in?"
Hazel: "YES!"
Jay: "I told you there was nothing to worry about, me and hailey are really proud of you, I'll let her know when she gets back from a job"
Hazel: "okie dokie. Thank you for everything you've ever done for me, I appreciate absolutely everything. I mean it, I love you both so much..."
Jay: "we love you too kiddo, now go and make more mess or something"
Hazel: "pfft, I'm not messy. Well I gotta go now, bye!"
Jay: "see you, haz"

He hung up the phone, beaming from ear to ear, "well that's a rare smile" hailey wandered ver to him, throwing her jacket over her chair. Jay shrugged, "hazel got into the programme" he smiled again. Hailey gasped, "really? Oh my god, that's great" she smiled. Jay nodded, "she told me to tell you that she's really grateful for all we've done, and that she loves us" he smiled. Hailey smiled, "Awh, what a good kid. I don't wanna let her grow up" she sighed. Jay smiled, "she's everything we are, so I don't mind her growing into that" he shrugged. Hailey smiled, "yeah, I guess she is..." she nodded, nudging his arm as she plodding off to go grab some celebratory coffee.

Hazel was laying in bed at the end of the day, now that everyone had celebrated her achievement, just thinking about life... and how far she's came along, how good her life is right now, how bright her future is, how lucky she is, how she's no longer a castaway... All thanks to her new family.
