Nobody's POV
Tommy stared out at the ocean, bristling at the cold. He hadn't left the stage in nearly 13 days and his body showed the effects. Dirty hair, dark circles under his eyes, his eyes dull and gaining a grey tint.
He had seen Ghostbur for the first few days, then the ghost did not return. The days Ghostbur had been here had been worse than the days he wasn't. Tommy assumed it would be other way around, that even being able to be close to Ghostbur would make him feel closer to Wil, but Ghostbur did not spare him a glance, constantly looking away when Tommy tried to make eye contact.
Tommy at least thought Wil would try to make some sort of contact, even if it was a simple, loving glance.
He did not see the way Ghostbur's eyes watered when he turned away or the way his hands shook as he held his blue.
Tommy did not understand Wilbur's behavior as anything but carelessness, maybe shame?
Had Tommy done something wrong?
Tommy did not understand that the fact that Dream was always there, watching Ghostbur with knowing eyes, was the reason Ghostbur would not look at him.
He did not see Wilbur collapse into Phil's arms hours later in sobs after smashing his guitar out of frustration.
He did not understand that Wilbur was acting this way to save Tommy, to keep him from permanent death, because if that happened Wilbur didn't know what he'd do with himself.
He didn't want to find out.
And after Ghostbur left, Dream stayed. Dream was there with harsh fists and comforting words.
Ghostbur had left and not returned sometime before Tommy's eyes had completely dulled and his demeanor had changed, Tommy wondered if Wilbur would even care about the excessive bruises and scars that had formed since he'd been gone.
Dream told him he wouldn't, and Dream wouldn't lie to him, right?
Dream had actually told him today that he had offered to let Tommy go home to his family, but his brothers and father had refused, saying it was better that Tommy stayed.
This was the reason Tommy now found himself on the ground, trying to breath through all of the emotions that shattered his heart.
Dream had left a while ago, after giving Tommy the news that crumbled the thin ground he was still standing on.
Tommy sobbed endlessly, clutching his dirty and bloodied shirt. This pain hurt worse than any injuries he had retained from Dream. He wished there was invulnerability for an emotional pain of this magnitude.
He was not aware of the events that happened the night before in the home he so wished he could go back to.
The papers had arrived later than most deliveries, but when they had, Phil, Techno, and Wilbur had practically tore them apart looking through them. They had done this since Tommy had been trapped on the stage, to see if they had absolutely any lines or contact with him. They had not seen anything of him in a while and their worry was eating them alive.
And when Techno found Tommy's name in his scenes he could've collapsed with relief because he'd get to see him, he'd get to see him and....
make fun of him?
"That green, smug son of a bitch-" Techno growled and this time Phil did not scold him for it.
"What, Tech?" Wilbur said urgently.
"I get to see him, our scene is me visiting him in exile and making fun of him." Techno said, fists clenching and wrinkling the paper.
"At least you'll get to see him, make sure he's okay," Phil said. "Like Wil said, he just seemed a little dirty and sad for the most part, from what we've seen he hasn't retained any injuries since the axe on the first night and that has healed fairly well."
