More Than All The Stars

The sound of footsteps on wood rung loudly throughout the silent lands. Tommy walked slowly, but intently, down the Prime Path basking in the moonlight.

L'manburg was unusually quiet, but it was understandable considering the recent events.

Tommy continued his trek as he looked to the stars searching for something that wasn't there, and he didn't even know what he was looking for.

Tommy looked horrible, his eyes were sunken and dull, the bright blue replaced with a grey. He was malnourished and his clothes were dirty and covered in holes and tears.

However, Tommy walked down the path as if everything was normal about him, as if he was still that innocent, childish boy he once was.

He began to climb the stairs on the path that would lead him to his destination. He clenched and unclenched his fists. He walked with purpose, but without hurry.

He paused just as he reached the top of the stairs, staring at the bench that meant so much to him. On it, was a boy, already waiting for him. It wasn't just any boy, it was his best friend. His other half, everything that mattered to him.

The boy that had been with him through everything, who he would do absolutely anything for, the boy he loved more than all the stars.

Tubbo.

Tubbo was sitting on the bench with a slight smile on his face as he stared at the bee that was resting on his finger. He had a flower tucked behind his ear and looked so very light and happy, contrasting Tommy's appearance.

Tommy smiled as he walked over to the bench and took his normal spot beside Tubbo.

"Hey, big man." Tommy said, his voice filled with happiness and sadness at the same time.

"Oh hi, Tommy! It's about time! I was beginning to think you weren't gonna show!" Tubbo said playfully.

"You know I'll always show up, big T." Tommy said back, his voice gentle and reassuring.

"I know you will, Toms." Tubbo said cheerfully, he turned away from the bee on his finger as it flew away. He looked at Tommy and his eyes widened.

"Oh, Tommy! You look horrible!"

"Wow, asshole." Tommy chuckled.

"I'm serious! You promised me you'd take better care of yourself!"

"I know, I know," Tommy paused, contemplative, ".... but what's the point?"

"You're the point, Toms! You have so much more that you need to do! So many people that need you! I need you!"

Tommy scoffed and there was a beat of silence.

Tubbo sniffled and Tommy threw him an apologetic glance before trying to change the topic.

"So, you been socializing with lots of bees lately?"

There was another moment of silence before they both broke out into laughter at the drastic change in conversation. It wasn't even that funny, but it was one of those moments. That best friend laughter that makes everything so much funnier.

Tubbo laughed as he tried to respond, "Actually, I have! They've been saying some very interesting things about you, Tommy!" Tubbo mocked.

Tommy shook a playful fist in the air as he yelled, "Well you can tell those bees that if they keep talking shit about me I'll destroy every beehive in Lmanburg! Buzzing bastards..."

They both laughed again as they stared out into the grassy lands filled with structures that had been built so long ago... simpler times, Tommy thought.
