Tatiana and Lambert sat in silence.

Tatiana pretended to read a book while watching the Witcher. Lambert was...at least quiet. Staring out the window to look over the snow covered lands.

"Mind if I ask how exactly your house burnt down in the middle of winter?" Lambert eventually asked and Tatiana felt her heart stop.

"A little invasive, don't you think?" She asked coldly, turning a page in the book maybe a bit too aggressively and Lambert shrugged,

"We are letting you live with us"

Tatiana huffed, "Fine, if you must know...it burnt a few months ago, your...brother simply happened to find us now"

Lambert raised a scarred eyebrow but shrugged. Tatiana was grateful he accepted that response,

"So what's your relation to those two men?"

Tatiana stared at Lambert who looked amused at Tatiana's annoyance, "Just making conversation ma'am"

"They're my friends" Tatiana said, "you really think I can afford a house? In this economy?"

Lambert laughed at that. It was a genuine sound that was loud and...it made Tatiana smile a bit against her wishes.

"You raise a good point" Lambert said, grinning over at Tatiana who stared at his teeth. They were sharp and wolflike. Tatiana wondered just how much of the man had been changed by becoming a Witcher.

Seeming to notice her staring, Lambert snapped his mouth shut. Crossing his arms and staring back out of the window.

Tatiana hummed before looking back at her book. Her faint smile having never left her lips.
