The next morning, Rey was up early to get herself ready, and to wrap the TV box.  Standing back to admire her handiwork, she laughed at the absurdity of it.  It was completely unlikely that they wouldn't know what it was – but to her, it just didn't feel like a Christmas gift unless it was wrapped.  Finn also woke early, declaring that he too had some last minute shopping to do, and wanted to get to the stores as soon as they opened, before they got too busy.  He'd looked relieved when she told him she was transporting the TV to Obi & Anna's, so they wouldn't have to deal with it on Christmas Day.  He gave her a quick kiss on the cheek as he left, saying he'd see her later.

After Ben arrived, he easily carried the TV downstairs and wrangled it into the back seat of his car.  A short time later, they were speeding down the highway on the way to his parent's house.  It was a beautifully sunny winter's day, and Rey couldn't help but feel happy.

Glancing at his profile, she studied him as he drove.  He really was such a great guy.  It just didn't seem fair that he was going through his issues with Kay.  Any woman would be thrilled to call him hers – and she knew that he was the type of man to cherish his woman.  He seemed to try to cherish Kay, but now that Rey knew more about their relationship, it seemed that she constantly, but gently pushed him away.

On the surface, they seemed to be a relatively normal couple, but given all that she knew about their relationship, when Rey really thought about it, Kay and Ben didn't actually seem to be that close.  She couldn't even remember the last time that Ben had said he'd seen her!  Maybe she was a bit crazy, but somehow she thought that herself and Ben were far closer.  Didn't that seem weird?

Ben's voice startled her from her reverie.  "What?"

"Hmmm?"  She asked

"You've been staring at me for the past few minutes.  What is it?"

"Oh.  Sorry."  She replied, looking away and blushing slightly.  "I just kind of got lost in my head is all....I didn't mean to stare."

He glanced over at her.   "What were you thinking about?"

She blushed once more, feeling caught.  "You and Kay."

His eyes widened.  "Ummm what about Kay and I?"

Shrugging, she replied.  "Just that she never seems to be around anymore."

She watched his Adam's apple bob in his throat as he swallowed.  "It does seem that way, doesn't it."  He muttered quietly.

Reaching out, she gave his knee a soft squeeze.  "I'm sorry Ben."

He gave her a curt nod, then changed the subject.  "So, are you ready to meet my parents?  I'm sure they're dying to meet you."

Her brows shot up.  "But why?  They don't know me."

"I may have mentioned you a few times."  His face reddened.  "They know we're close."

"Oh.  Do they think its weird – us being such good friends, despite the fact that you have a girlfriend?"
