“Be a good man, you’re in charge now, okay?” Tom said to our little less than three months old baby. I kissed Bill’s cheek goodbye and hugged him as well as I did to Georg and Gustav.
“Have a safe flight!” I said to the three of them.
“Jo, you don’t happen to know if Allison is mad at me?” Georg asked me. I knew that they had a little issue with the long distance relationship but I didn’t think she had any sort of hard feeling towards Ge. “She’s not answering my calls…”
“No, she’s just very… smart. She won’t talk to you because she doesn’t want to say something that she doesn’t really mean.” I explained.
“I’ll see her next month, maybe then I can figure out what’s going on, okay?” Georg nodded and I turned back to Tom, he was now holding Günther up before him, Andreas and Gustav as they spoke to the baby with the goofiest smiles in their faces.
In the past couple of weeks I’d find out that Tom was getting closer and closer to Gün, he spent a lot of time playing with the little baby and when he’d come and hand him over to me it would be for me to change his diaper, of course, he still hated doing it, but whenever I’d say it was the small price to pay to get into my pants he was quick to change not one but maybe two diapers in one day.
“We’re gonna miss you.” I grabbed Gün from Tom’s hands and held him against my chest.
“I’m gonna miss you too, call every night!” I nodded.
“Have fun.” I kissed Tom’s lips and he leaned down to kiss the top of Günther’s head. I stroked his dog’s head and smiled.
“Take care of her, man.” He waved and walked away into the plane with the dog on his leash walking right next to him.
It was always hard to see my friends leave for tour, today it wasn’t any exception, I went home and looked down at Bora and Rize; Tom’s dog was flying with him too, so we were all on our own now.
Günther and I wouldn’t be flying home until we were done with the vaccines and the doctor called it a go for him to be on a plane. I was still working with Dasha on finding a name for her book. I was fond of Oliver’s adventures, but she didn’t like the name very much. She was going to be in Hamburg for a photo shoot next week so then we’d get a chance to talk.
The time flew by rather fast when Günther kept me busy. I got also a strange call from the management in London, I had been invited to do a little campaign for UNICEF, I wasn’t going to say no, and I didn’t, I got the little video done in Hamburg the day before Dasha arrived. Tom had agreed with me that it was a job he wouldn’t decline either, as a matter of fact Bill and himself were doing it too, although he found out a little after I called to tell him.
I had Günther with me when it was done, it was a version of the song imagine by John Lennon, since I was horrible at singing I just spoke out the words to the song and because the director had children he insisted on letting me carry Günther in my arms as we recorded it. I spoke out the words while I rocked my baby boy lightly and fortunately he was very good around strangers and he didn’t lose his great mood, he looked lively and smiled a lot during the shooting, I sent Tom a picture and he texted a long while later.
“Looking handsome, did he behave?” I smiled and texted him back.
“He was awesome, everyone loved him.” I hit sent and didn’t get nervous or mad when he didn’t call later. I knew he had a busy schedule and kept in mind the time difference.
