And we are back to Sunset!
Hey Sunset, can I come over later today? We can have a study session, plus I have something I want to ask you
The text was from Twilight. Sunset smiled at her phone.
Yeah, sure! She replied. Do you want me to pick you up or not?
I'll walk, it's not that far. Is 4pm okay?
Yeah thats fine. See you then
See you soon!
She checked the time, and noticed that it was eleven. She had plenty of time to relax and then prepare for the study session. Playing video games helped distract her from thinking about her feelings. It'd been a few days since Timber had told her that he wasn't interested in an open relationship, and while she was mostly over it, it was hard to recover from being let down after gaining hope.
She'd only seen Twilight at school since then, and that slight distance helped a little bit. She knew she wouldn't get over her crush easily, but she could take small steps. She'd been able to see her as only a best friend in the past, she could do it again.
Sunset shook her head to clear it, then immersed herself in the game once more.

The doorbell rang, and Sunset went to answer it. She took a deep breath, then opened the door.
"Hey Sci!" she greeted.
"Hey Sunset!"
Sunset picked up the backpack Twilight had taken off, mildly surprised by how heavy it was. "Did you walk all the way here wearing that?"
"It's not that heavy!"
Sunset raised an eyebrow, then moved to put the bag in the living room, only to stumble. "Really now?"
"I'm serious!" Twilight insisted. "I usually have more stuff inside!"
"How does your back handle that kind of weight?"
"I'm just used to it, I guess?" she answered with a shrug.
Sunset hummed. "Okay. Which subject do you wanna study first?" She figured that Twilight would bring up the question that she wanted to ask whenever she was ready.
"We can start off with English."
"Okay, sure!"
They sat down next to each other, and began to work through the review packages that they'd been given in their previous class. The atmosphere was comfortable, a calm silence as they went over their work, occasionally asking each other questions.
"Hey, can I ask you something?" Twilight asked. "I'm not sure if you'll have the answer I'm looking for, but I feel more comfortable asking you."
"Go ahead, I'm glad you feel comfortable to ask me." Part of her wondered if this had something to do with Timber, but that didn't really matter.
"So..." she began, shifting in her seat. "Have you ever felt sexual attraction?"
Sunset blinked. That wasn't a question she was expecting. "Honestly, no, but it's one of those things that I feel like I'd be experiencing in the future."
"Hmm. I'm questioning whether I might be ace or not, so I'm trying to figure out how exactly I'd know or not. I mean, I know I don't need a label, but it's something I like having. I know that you aren't ace, so I'm wondering what made you know."
Sunset hummed, then thought it over. It did take her a little bit to realize that she was bisexual, but she'd never felt like she was asexual, despite never having felt sexual attraction before.
"I don't think there was a moment or anything like that. I've imagined kissing people who I've been attracted to before. It's not quite the same, but have you done that?"
"Not really. I've been curious as to how kissing felt based on romances, but those moments are rare, and there'd never been a face, just a vague image of a person."
"And you've kissed Timber, so how did that feel?"
"It felt nice at first," Twilight said honestly. "But then it became more uncomfortable. That's what prompted the questioning. Have you ever kissed someone?"
"I've only kissed Flash Sentry," Sunset admitted. "It was kinda nice, but I wasn't really that attracted to him... I was mainly just... using him."
"Oh. I often forget that before I met you, you'd been a different person. I'm glad you found the power of friendship, because without you, I'd be a different person too."
Sunset smiled fondly. "You helped a lot, you know. Even after everything, it still took a while to adjust, and being with you is comfortable."
Twilight smiled back. "Thank you for everything, Sunset."
There were many things that she wanted to say, but instead, she said lamely, "You're welcome." And then, to switch the topic, "Are there other questions you have about attraction?"
Twilight shrugged. "I don't think so. I don't necessarily have an answer, but I know finding the right label for your feelings takes a while. But it probably does mean something if it's something I didn't even think about."
"Asexuality is also a spectrum," Sunset reminded her. "I'm not familiar familiar with all the terms, but you can look into them. And you can always come up to me if there's anything else, okay?"
"Thank you."
From there, they continued their study session, and moved on to other subjects. Science was Sunset's strong suit, though Twilight was great at it too, though she particularly excelled in math.
"Wait, Sunset," Twilight called out, moving her hand from where she'd been writing. "You wrote the number wrong here." She leaned over to erase the mistake. "Make sure you look it over."
"Oh, oops," she re-read her answer, wondering how she'd managed to miss it. She also wondered how Twilight had noticed so quickly. She fixed it, then went back to working.
After another hour, Twilight closed her book, then started to put her books in her bag. "It's getting a bit late, I'll be heading home now. I know I said it already, but thanks for everything."
"It was no problem," Sunset replied, moving to help her so she wouldn't hurt her arm. "You can always come to me if you need to."
"I'm glad I have a friend like you. Love you, Sunset."
"I'm glad I have you as my friend too. I love you too."
Once Twilight walked out the door, she sighed. Why was this so difficult? She turned and picked up her controller, then sat down to play more of the game that she'd been playing earlier.
Oop it's been a while since the last update but writing burnout happened, then I got into a new fandom but I'll be trying to update a little faster again
Chapter's a bit short, but just trying to back into the flow
