One day in the month of May when I decided to get up early and stroll around our neighborhood. I really love the summer breeze and the peaceful stillness of our province—very different from the deafening noise of city cars and its polluted air.
I stopped in my tracks when I suddenly remember that we are going to attend a feast at my aunt's place in a nearby village so I hurried back home to get ready.
When we arrived at my aunt’s house, I was amazed at how happy and lively the people were while enjoying the beat of the music that surrounds the entire house. I saw my aunt busy entertaining the guests, and even invited some random people who passes in front of their house.
As a curious kid who live in a city, I wondered '𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘮𝘺 𝘢𝘶𝘯𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴𝘯'𝘵 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺?' And when I asked her this question, she answered:
'𝘎𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘢 𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘨𝘢, 𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘵𝘢𝘰 —𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘭𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯 𝘰 𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪— 𝘶𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘴𝘢𝘺𝘢 𝘬𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘢 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯, 𝘪𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘺 𝘪𝘴𝘢 𝘴𝘢 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘺𝘰𝘯 𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘢 𝘭𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘸𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘯 𝘯𝘢 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘺𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘺 𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘪 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯.'
Once again, I was in awe while processing what she have said, my young mind couldn't comprehend whether it was a good thing or a bad thing, considering the huge difference of the way people live their lives in the province and the people living in the city.
Up until now I still remember vividly the conversation that my aunt and I had and I promised to my younger self that I will never forget that memory because since then, I have dreamed of living in the province rather than the city.
