...Then I'll Toss It Aside.

0630. Rias hired a limo for us, for everybody, she paid for the expenses. It was a semi private affair. The only family Shirley had left was her mother.
But her friends would be there. All of them. I had found out last night that Rias, Shirley and Milly had all known each other from before all this due to their families social status.
I wore my best suit. Not as a way of showing off but as not to look disrespectful. Lelouch wasn't here. I hadn't seen him since Shirley died. Jeremiah took me up to the aircraft for medical attention before I had the chance to talk to him. You may be wondering how my wounds didn't heal by themselves. Well Jeremiah was designed to kill Lelouch, and remember Lelouch was half devil, the Geass order knew that. So Jeremiah's blades were Holy Swords. They could kill Devils. I had the option of Asia healing my wounds but I don't deserve that. I will wear these scars, to remind myself that I failed you, Shirley.
We arrived at the cemetery just before it began. None of us had said a word to each other. None of us knew what to say. People were already crowded around the gravestone. Shirley always said that if she were to go she wanted to be buried. She didn't want to be cremated she always thought it was so final, and that she's rather give back to the planet rather than be a bunch of dust in a pot. We arrived at the funeral, I looked around at who was there, Milly was, Rivalz, lots of Shirleys girl friends. And... Suzaku, alongside Gino, Anya was surprisingly or unsurprisingly missing. I split off from Rias' group and respectfully made my way up to the front next to Milly and Rivalz. I pulled on my cuff. A cue for Lord Jeremiah. Pure loyalty from concentrate.
He activated his Geass canceller, deactivating any active Geass'. Lelouch's Geass, The Emperors and Mine. The others took a second regaining their memories. Milly and Rivalz looked stunned. I tapped her.
"L-Lincoln?" She whispered. I ignored her and continued listening to the priest. I quickly glanced at Suzaku. My Geass on him was deactivated. But so was Lelouch's. That meant he could die. He glared at me. Finally figuring out everything that happened.
I shot him a look back.
You're vulnerable now Suzaku. You would die here today. I looked down at Shirley's mother who was in tears, not surprising, she lost her husband and now her teenage daughter.
'I'll avenge her. I promise.'

The funeral ended and people began to depart. After a time it was only me, Rias, Milly, Rivalz, Shirley's mother. And the two Knights. Suzaku must've told Gino about who I truly was. I beckoned Milly and Rivalz to follow me. They did so, we made it to a clearing where nobody would hear us talk.
"It's been a long time, Milly, Rivalz. I'm glad we could talk." I sat on the grass.
"Lincoln, what happened? Why...why is Nunnally the viceroy, who is Rolo?" Rivalz asked.
"A long story. But I'm glad we could talk at the end. I couldn't let you all live the lie that you were living.
My father altered your memories so you would forget Nunnally and me. I couldn't leave you both like that." I played with a leaf that had fallen from a tree.
"Lincoln what do you mean the end?" Milly sat down and took off her hat, Rivalz too.

"I... don't have anything left waiting for me as a student. Shirley's death made me realise that.
Milly, Rivalz... I've killed so many people. Directly or indirectly. I've lost count of just how many. And do you want to know something? I don't regret any of it, I don't feel guilty. I did what I had to. And if I had the chance to do it all again. I'd take the same path I'm on." I admitted.

"L-Lincoln what do you mean?" Rivalz said unsteadily.
"Woman... children... soldiers. It didn't matter.
As long as the path I was on was the right on. Then it didn't matter... Milly. Rivalz. Lincoln Lamperouge is dead. Lincoln Clay too. Hmph. Funny.
I guess that's all I am. A fighter, a killer..." I sighed.

"Look after yourselves. You won't be seeing me again. At least, not the boy you knew. Not the arrogant, narcissistic, short-fused, temperamental child." I stood up and began to walk away. Milly pulled on my arm.
"Lincoln. You don't have to, talk with us just stay." She looked me in the eyes, I looked at the ground.
"Yeah come on buddy it doesn't matter what you've done it's in the past right?" Rivalz saw through the darkness and tried to cheer me up.
