TW: DRUGS
"Miss Price! It's time to check you out of this place." Dr.Reynolds announces, poking her head in the door.
My three days here are up. I can't help but dread leaving this place, knowing that I have no idea what's going on out in the world. The cleanse from technology would've been a lot nicer if I wasn't so stressed about Billie.
"Coming!" I exclaim back.
Thinking about Billie makes me sick. I hate that she could've done this. That she could've been lying to my face about everything. I don't want to believe it. But, it's hard not to.
What she said to me when she was being taken away by the police is engraved in my brain.
"I will find you. I promise!"
Her voice rings through my head each time I think of her. I wish I could just erase her from my life entirely. Pretend none of this ever happened so I can live my life the way I used to.
I grab my bag I packed earlier and head down the hallway and towards the lobby.
"Go ahead and sign these papers before you leave. We are happy we got to help you out, Carmen. If you ever need any resources feel free to reach out." Dr.Reynolds says with a smile, while passing a stack of papers over to me.
I quickly sign them and turn towards the door.
"Thanks, Dr.Reynolds." I say.
"You're welcome, your ride is out front." She says with a smile.
I wave at her and walk out the front doors. My heart hopes that Billie's black dodge challenger is out front waiting for me. But instead I'm faced with a white suv, that I've never seen in my life.
The passenger door opens and a tall, skinny man wearing black sunglasses hops out and opens the back door for me.
"Who are you?" I ask.
"Get in the car." The man says, coldly.
I quickly turn around and head back towards the main doors but I'm yanked backwards by a death grip on my wrist.
"Do not make a scene, Carmen. Get in the car." He says through his gritted teeth.
He pulls me once again towards the door and this time I comply. I sit myself down in the seat directly behind the driver, and the door is closed forcefully behind me.
I look around the car. The driver and the person that pulled me into the car look roughly the same. Both of them have frizzy brown hair and black sunglasses on. My eyes draw themselves to the console of the car. Several black ski masks lay wadded up together next to a neon green lighter.
I hear rustling behind me, and turn around to notice two girls, both likely their twenties sitting in the back seats. Their eyes are cold and uninviting.
I straighten up in my seat as the car pulls away from the psych ward.
"Are..." I choke out nervously. "...you guys the ones that have left the notes?" I ask.
The car remains silent.
"Go ahead and administer the Dilaudid. We need her relaxed when we bring her home." The driver says.
"Wait..." I start.
One of the girls behind me grabs hold of my arm and the other one fills a syringe with liquid out of a vial.
"No, please don't." I cry, trying to pull my arm away.
"Relax, Carmen. Please." The girl holding my arm says.
The other girl takes the syringe and carefully plunges it into my vein. I cry out and wince in pain.
As soon as the needle pulls out I feel the effects of the drugs kicking in already.
"Who are you guys, please." I cry, holding my arm close to my body.
"Quiet." The driver says.
I lay my now dizzy head against the window and feel my tears roll down my cheek slowly. My brain floats in and out of consciousness until I forget where I am anymore.
