Double Date (Zennezu and Tankana)

This chapter will be in the modern AU. Also I would like to thank NW__48 for the chapter idea!

       "Come on, Zenitsu! It's already 8:00!" Tanjiro yelled for the blonde in the bathroom getting ready for his date with Nezuko. Tanjiro was really reluctant at first considering it's Zenitsu we're talking about. But what broke him was the fact that his sister said she wanted to go out with Zenitsu and she would be safe and fine but only if he can tag along to make sure. So this is how the double date started since Tanjiro didn't want to look like a creep following a couple around a fair. "I'll be out in a minute! Let me comb my hair real quick!" Zenitsu yelled from inside the bathroom. "Well hurry up! The festival will be over in 2 hours!" Tanjiro said impatiently. "Be patient, Tanjiro" Kanao said grabbing a hold of his right arm and leaning on his shoulder. Both Kanao and Tanjiro blushed at this gesture and Tanjiro just sighed. "I know, I know" Tanjiro said as he calmed down. Nezuko had a tiny mirror and was looking over herself to make sure she looked good for Zenitsu.

She was wearing a pink shirt that buttoned up on top as well as have white stripes around her stomach and in the front held a white and pink flower. She also had a pink cotton material like skirt that went down to just above her knees. She also had a pink ribbon in the left side of her hair and the tips of the hair that was down just above her waist had a orange tint to it since it was a special occasion. She also wore white shoes and pink socks to match her outfit.

       Tanjiro was wearing a black shirt with a heart that was water on the right and fire on the left. He wore a black and green jacket that his mother gave him when he grew up. He also wore his usual hanafuda earrings which he cherishes. To contrast his shirt he decided to wear dark navy blue colored jeans. Kanao had a white shirt with puffy shoulder pads and a picture of a pink and yellow flower on her shirt and like Nezuko she has a similar type of skirt but it's white with little colored flowers on it. She wore a pink and yellowish greenish colored flower wrist band to match her butterfly hair clip.

"Sorry for the wait. I'm finally done!" Zenitsu says as he steps out of the bathroom. Steam was still a bit evident in the bathroom since he had to take a shower because he wanted to look his best for Nezuko. "Great! Let's go!" Nezuko said before she looked at him and she froze. Her cheeks instantly went red and she looked like she was about to faint.

Zenitsu was wearing a dark brown T-shirt that could be mistaken as a black one. It had a dandelion in the middle of it with thunderclouds above it and lightning shooting towards the dandelion. He wore black pants that had a dandelion stitched onto his left frost pocket by Nezuko. He wore a hoodie with a yellow color that faded into orange halfway through the hoodie. It has medium sized triangles dotted around the hoodie, Zenitsu cherished the hoodie a lot because his grandpa gave it to him. His hair was nice a combed unlike the usual times where the ends of his hair would be misshapen.

"Um, Nezuko-chan are you alright?" Zenitsu before he started to panic, "Ah! I'm so sorry I made you this way Nezuko-Chan! I can do whatever you need me to do in order to make you not in this state!" Zenitsu said getting up close and Tanjiro was glaring daggers at him. Kanao held him at bay though making sure not to intervene, "U-Um, no your f-fine. You just look s-so handsome" Nezuko said as she tried to cool herself down by looking away but with Zenitsu this close it was almost impossible to not look into his adorable eyes and get lost. "E-Eh!?" Zenitsu said confused as he backed up a bit.

"Come on let's go" Tanjiro not wanting to watch anymore of Zenitsu and his sister up close. "Coming!" Zenitsu said as he took Nezuko's hand and started to catch up to Tanjiro and Kanao. Nezuko was blushing the whole time this was happening, she was holding her crush's hand.

When they got to the fair they were amazed by the many bright lights. The colors were bright and joyful, putting a smile to anyone's face. The kids had already left for how late it was and only teenagers and adults were there. "Nezuko-chan! I found a game with big prizes that I can get you!" Zenitsu said pointing to a game that allowed a person to try and knock down 10 tin cans with 3 baseballs. The prizes varied from a small little pillow up to 5 feet stuffed animals. "You guys go ahead! Me and Tanjiro will be riding rides" Kanao said holding onto the purse she had. "Meet us at the food court in 45 minutes. No later" Tanjiro said sternly mostly towards Zenitsu who just nodded his head vigorously. "Onii-chan! It's not like he's going to kidnap me" Nezuko pouted hating how harsh Tanjiro is being towards Zenitsu when it comes to her. "I'm just trying to make sure you're safe and nothing will happen to you" Tanjiro said trying to defend himself. "Your being overprotective is what you're doing! Zenitsu wouldn't do such things to me, and you know it!" Nezuko said before turning heels and walked towards the tin can game. "I should go after her..." Zenitsu said not wanting to get into another fight or get on Tanjiro's angry side.

"Hey, Nezuko are you alright?" Zenitsu said as he caught up with her, "I don't like how Tanjiro acts towards you! He acts like your going to harass me or something! Which I know isn't true!" Nezuko said stopping and looking at Zenitsu in the eyes. "Well let's forget about it so I can win you one of the biggest prizes in this game!" Zenitsu said trying to change the topic and get positive. "Okay" was all Nezuko said as she watched as Zenitsu paid for the game. He took a ball and got into throwing position before letting loose and it zooming at super speed knocking all but 4 tin cans down. The guy working at the game lifted his hat and mouth agape. His cigarette which was half already looked like it was about to fall out. "Wow. Ever think of playing baseball?" The guy said looking at Zenitsu. "No. To afraid to get hit with the ball or get hit with a bat" Zenitsu said as he threw again and it knocked the rest of the cups down. "Well. You won fair and square! What prize would you like?" The guy said leaning on the counter. "The panda up there please!" Zenitsu said and the guy got one of the hanging pandas down and gave it to him. "Congrats" one of the teenagers said as a group of them just watched what he did.

"Thanks! Here you go Nezuko-chan!" Zenitsu said handing Nezuko the panda. "Oh, um. Thanks!" Nezuko said flustered, "No problem!" Zeniths said and they walked away. On the way to the food court to meet up with Tanjiro since they were done riding a spinning top ride that almost made Zenitsu puke, Nezuko kissed Zenitsu's cheek. He got flustered and looked at Nezuko and she just smiled at him and leaned on him. He just smiled and walked towards the Food court knowing that life is going to get better from here.

"Come on Tanjiro! Let's ride this one" Kanao said as they lined up for the Ferris wheel. "So hows your night so far Kanao?" Tanjiro asks as he puts an arm around her shoulder. "I love it! It's even better when I can spend it with you" Kanao said as this is the most energetic and talkative since forever. Tanjiro chuckled at her and smiled something that always was Kanao's weakness. "Next" the guy said making Tanjiro and Kanao walk onto the Ferris wheel and close the door. "Have fun" the guy said depressingly as he started the ride and it lifted them up higher and higher. At the top they can see the the setting sun and it looked magnificent. The colors mixed together making it almost like a painting, "It's beautiful" Kanao said as she breathed out a sigh looking at the sky. "Really? 'Cause when I look in the dictionary and see beautiful. I see you" Tanjiro said kissing Kanao on the cheek making her really flustered at what he just said to her. "Eh!?" Was all Kanao said as she just stared at him. "What? You think it isn't true? Well you need to be checked out" Tanjiro said and just hugged her next resting his head atop her smooth and glistening hair in the setting sun. "I love you, Tanjiro" Kanao said leaning into his embrace more and more. "I love you too, Kanao" Tanjiro said as he closed his eyes to savor the moment.

There you go! I hope you guys liked the chapter and tell what you like and what I can improve on for the characters because I'm not confident in how I wrote Kanao and Tanjiro. Anyway next One-shot will be by me! It's a Sanekanae One-shot and it will be sad and emotional so be prepared. Anyway! I hope you guys have a nice rest of your day!
