Levi's POV:
I didn't have a dad growing up. My mom was a single mother, struggling to pay bills, buy food, and keep us in a sustainable living situation. I went to a public school outside of my small town. I loved my mom. I knew she tried to work hard to survive. I would hear her at night, leaving the house to go to work. Looking back at it now, I knew she was a mistress at the night.
When we would have dinner, I would find markings on her arms and legs. If I was who I am now, I would have killed the men who did this to her. One thing about my mother, she would always smile and do her best to take care of me.
I wished I could have seen the signs of her being depressed or her being in pain.
It was the week of my birthday when it happened.
I came home one day and found my mom hanging from the ceiling fan.
It took days before anyone found my mom and me. My uncle was the one to find me... save me.
My Uncle, Kenny Ackerman was a different kind of man. He would drink a lot and leave me to fend for myself. He had money to take care of me though. We lived in a different town from where I grew up with my mom. I was able to go to school with new people. That's how I met Hange, Moblit, Erwin, and a few more people on the way.
At the age of 15, Kenny left me alone in an apartment with some money. I had to find ways to make money, so I worked at a few places.

I managed to keep my grades up while working 3 jobs. Every girl and woman was infatuated with me. I ignored all of them. I did have sex when I was drunk one time. We both consented. I had no real feelings for the girl. It just kind of happened. I wanted to get it out of the way.
My grades were at a 4.0. I graduated high school and went to college with Erwin, Hange, and Moblit. A year later, I met you, Y/N...
I found out about you because you were the 'big news' around here. See, we all knew each other and you were the 'new girl in town.
