chapter four

Jacquline:

Life was better after all of those horrible memories. I followed my dreams and got my dream job. Candice was arrested and I don't know here she is now. Aunt Dinah started a new business in Asia. My mom and I are alright now. And me and Michael are definitely at the best terms.

After months, it was finally finished. I started my very own hotel.
It's also a week since it opened.

"Reservation for 2." a man tells me. I do own this hotel and I am also a receptionist.

"Under what name?" i smile

"Derrick Jones." he replies

"Room 237. Second floor, thirty seventh room." I hand him the key after he fills in a form.

"Thank you." he smiles

"The bellboy would take your luggages to your room."

I smile at my own work. It's so elegant here. I've always wanted to start my own hotel and now I did it.

"Surprise!" I hear Michael's voice behind me, touching my shoulders.

"Michael, I'm on my shift." I laugh slightly

"And I'm on my break." he sits on the counter.

"Michael!" i scold "Get down there!"

"Okay okay" he laughs

"It's not funny."

"Jacqui, You've been so serious lately." he pouts

"That's because I have a job, Michael."

"I do too but look at me."

I sigh, "I'm really busy."

"What happened to my Jacquline-lantern?" he frowns

I laugh slightly, "I'm sorry, Michael. I'm just really busy lately because of all of these work. This hotel is in a big city , alot of customers would come. I would also have to pay my staff and everything."

"Shhhh." he hugs me, rubbing my back. "You're stressing out."

"Thanks Michael." i smile

"For what?"

"For always being with me."

At my night shift, around 2AM, I heard screaming from a room. It was terrified screams and it didn't only come from one room.

"There's a ghost!" one cries and starts complaining about my hotel.

"I'm sorry, what's going on?" I ask

"There's a ghost in my bathroom!" the girl cries "This place is haunted!"

"It must be one of the reflected light of the tv to the glass door of your shower." i explain

She shakes her head, "This place is haunted."
