Ding! Ding! Ding!
Who rings church bells at a funeral? This isn't a wedding.
I walked up to the church wearing an elegant black dress knowing that funeral has already begun. I swung open both of the doors so wide that they slammed against the exterior walls of the church. All eyes became glued to me. Then as I begun to walk down the aisle, the whispers started.
I heard that she abandoned him, knowing he was weak and sick.
I heard the she's just here to collect his insurance money.
I think someone said that she was an accident.
Why did she even come? It's not like she knew him.
I just kept walking. I'm not here for them, I reminded myself. As I neared the open casket I looked down at my father's face. The one I never knew. The one that still sent gifts on every occasion. The one the I look more and more similar to the longer I look at him. My dad's dead but I never knew him.
I placed the single black rose I held in my hand into the casket.
"What are you even doing here?" I turned and identified the voice to the face of my half sibling, the one who made the post.
"I'm-" I was cut off.
"Yeah, what gives you the right?!"
"You weren't by his side when he died! You never even come to visit."
"I'm just here to pay my respect, he was my father after all." I tried to explain.
"Do not call him your father. You didn't even know him."
"You don't even look Asian I want a DNA test." A few others joined in a chorus of 'I agrees'.
"Fine let me just leave." I tried to walk back down the aisle when the people stood blocking my path.
"Oh no you're not going anywhere." Someone grabbed both of my arms and my legs as I felt myself being lifted from the ground. I kicked and squirmed trying to get down.
"No! Stop! Put me down! Some one help me!" I yelled to no avail.
"Stop screaming, you deserve to die not my father." I looked over at the casket that now sat empty. My biological father now stood beside it.
"How could you do this? Aren't you my dad?"
"I would never claim a nigger child like you."
I felt myself being lowered into the casket as I squirmed and yelled even louder. The lid of the casket was slammed shut, muffling my screams. I pounded on it over and over.
"Help! Someone help me!" I began to grow tired. "Can anyone hear me?" I asked weakly. I looked down at my hands. Worms appeared crawling through my half-decayed hands. I was so frightened by the scene that I let out an ear-piercing scream.

I bolted up to a sitting position letting out the most unsteady breath the human body could produce. I was breathing hard trying to calm down. Then came the water works. I felt like I was hyperventilating and couldn't get enough air. I closed my eyes and jumped back against the head board, letting out a whimper, when I felt someone touch my shoulder.
"Samantha. Samantha, it's just me." Minho's voice reassured me but I still couldn't opened my eyes. I felt his hands on my cheeks wiping my tears. I slowly opened my eyes and met Minho's, who now sat in front of me. "It's just me, okay? You're okay." I nodded, as if trying to convince myself. He pulled me into a comforting hug, stroking my braids which felt eerily familiar.
