Samantha's POV
><><><><><><><><><><><I woke up at 12:45 the next day feeling a lot better. I grabbed the water leftover from last night and drunk it. I quickly went through my morning routine, then went to the kitchen and ate more soup just to be safe, maybe I'll try something different for lunch. My mom had left a note on the fridge that said she was working a double and overnight, and to make sure that someone picks up Mason from school. I went to say good morning to my sisters then retreated back to my room. I started reading a book that had laid idle on my bookshelf for years.
I read for about an hour until my thoughts started to distract me from the book. I was so excited to be back home, and now I'm leaving in two days. I sighed placing down the book that I no longer found interesting. I need to do something today.
I went through my contacts to look for someone that would possibly be available to hang with me today. Since my recently added contacts are shown first, Jordan was the first name I saw.
I called him to see if he was doing anything today. He picked up afer the second ring.
"Hello?"
"Hey Jordan, it's Samantha. How are you?"
"I'm doing good but what about you? Are you feeling better? I heard that you left the hospital." He inquired.
"I feel a whole lot better. Thanks. I was calling to see if you had any plans for today."
"Oh, nah. I'm not doing anything."
"Do you wanna go grab something to eat later? I can finally eat solid foods again, and I've been wanting a good burger."
"Sure. When?"
"Around four. Let's go to Fuddruckers."
"I've never been." He said leaving me shocked.
"You've never been to Fuddruckers?! Like ever?!" I ask.
"I'm not from here. I used to live in California." I laugh.
"Well so did I, and Fuddruckers is the Shake Shack of Missouri."
"I can't wait to go then."
"'Kay Jordan, I'll talk to you later."
"Okay bye."
"Bye."
I hang up the phone and check the time. 2:45. It's been a long time since I've been on a run. I used to run a lot before I went on tour, so why not. I changed into my exercise clothes and grabbed my phone from my nightstand. I drove to a park about ten minutes away before stretching, then starting my way along the trail. The trail was a mile long, so at my alternating jogging and sprinting speed, only took me about seven minutes. In high school, I was the leader of my track team three years in a row. After I finished the mile I walked back to my car and headed home.
When I got home, I showered, then left once again to pick up Mason from school. I sat in the pick-up line until I saw his grey colored backpack bouncing in the car's direction. I unlocked the doors as he slid into the front seat, throwing his backpack into the back.
"Hello, my dear little brother." I say pulling out of the school's parking lot, heading home. "How was school?"
"Hey Samantha! School was cool because at breakfast they put out strawberry milk and chocolate muffins. Then for lunch we had pizza. Then at recess we all played tag and Andrew told Rebecca that he liked her- she just ran away though. At the end of the day, Durell handed out cupcakes for his birthday and he gave me two." Mason explained to me excitedly.
