The night of bonfire came quicker than Louis had expected. The mammoth backyard had been used for the occasion, jagged trunks of trees were wreathed with fairy lights. The Styles pack really knew how to outshine themselves whenever decorations were concerned. Quickly pocketing the pack of half-empty pack of cigarettes, he trudged towards where the gaieties were organized.

He scoffed underneath his breath when he caught sight of the young alphas of the pack trying to add more logs in the already lit fire. It was quite amusing to watch them try to flex their muscles in front of a small group of omegas.

How pathetic.

He roamed his eyes around the bespangled yard, squinting his eyes to catch the sight of his friends in the horde of the people. When met with nothing, he sighed in disappointment before walking forward and towards where Harry's brother stood. He scrunched his nose in distaste when he noticed the toddler perched on his hip, the blue-eyed alpha quickly walking away to the other direction before Noah noticed his presence.

It was probably not the best decision he had ever made as seconds after walking away from the soon-to-be pack alpha, he was approached by Evan who looked fresh as a daisy, all bright-eyed and enraptured by the sight of the crowd. "The suit looks great on you!" Evan twittered, offering him a wide grin. Louis simply nodded, keeping his focus on behind the young alpha, where he could clearly see a tall omega in between a group of petite, small omegas. "I am—"

"Yeah, thanks for the compliment, kid. I think Harry's calling for me, why don't we talk again after that?" His tone was suggestive even though the look on his face screamed anything but that. Evan nodded, looking a bit crestfallen but that was the least of Louis' worries. When he didn't get a verbal response, Louis took off towards where he had seen Harry. He didn't understand why Evan felt the need to be such a kiss-ass. He understood now why Zayn felt the immediate pull towards the alpha, the kid was too obsequious, too eager to please everyone around him.

He frowned, looking around the place where the group of omegas had once stood.

"Great," he muttered to himself, tone rancorous which he thought perfectly depicted what he was feeling from within. Not only was he forced to stay here for a mind-numbing bonfire ("It will be so fun!" Harry had chirped before the bonfire, practically bouncing on his toes as he had waited for him to come out of the room) but he was also expected (or more like destined) to endure it alone.

He couldn't even pick apart Harry's scent from the crowd because apparently, the whole pack had to be invited. Fishing out his phone from the pockets of his slacks, he stared at the now illuminated screen with his bottom lip tucked in between his teeth, pondering over whether or not he should text the green-eyed omega to inquire him about his whereabouts. In the end, he scrolled past Harry's contact, quickly typing out a text to Liam, figuring Zayn would be too busy flirting with Evan tonight.
